大豆是低投入成本作物之一。由於其他作物的高投入成本及去年玉米收成差，大豆的種植量在提高。 Planting is up because of high input cost for other crops and poor corn crop last year. (Soybean are one of the lower input cost crops.)

種植期在 6 月底 7 月初正值當地干旱時期。一些農田出苗有問題。但是 , 一旦苗出來了 , 它們現在就長得很好。 Planting period in late June early July was very dry. Some fields have plant stand problems in certain areas. However, if the plants came up, they are now doing very well.

全年降雨少，比其它一些地區的正常雨量少 17英寸以下。但在八月份結莢季節，這一地區有大量降雨，我們預計收成很可觀。 Light on rain for the year, up to 17 inches below normal in some areas. But the month of August, during pod fill season, the area received significant rains every week. As a result we are expecting a tremendous soybean crop.
