กรมการศกษานอกโรงเรยนไดจดทาชดวชาในหมวดวชาภาษาองกฤษ เพอใชประกอบการเรยนร ตามหลกเกณฑและวธการจดการศกษานอกโรงเรยน หลกสตรการศกษาขนพนฐานพทธศกราช 2544 ซงผเรยนสามารถศกษาคนควาดวยตนเอง ปฏบตกจกรรม รวมทงแบบฝกหด เพอทดสอบความรความเขาใจในสาระเนอหา เมอศกษาแลวถายงไมเขาใจสามารถกลบไปศกษาใหมไดผเรยนสามารถเพมพนความรหลงจากศกษาชดวชาน โดยนาความรไปแลกเปลยนกบเพอนในชนเรยนศกษาจากภมปญญาทองถน จากแหลงการเรยนร และจากสออนๆ

ในการจดทาชดวชาน ไดรบความรวมมอดวยดจากผทรงคณวฒ และผเกยวของ หลายทานซงชวยกนคนควาและเรยบเรยงเนอหาสาระ เพอใหไดสอทสอดคลองกบหลกสตรและเปนประโยชนตอผเรยนทอยนอกระบบโรงเรยนอยางแทจรง กรมการศกษานอกโรงเรยนขอขอบคณคณะผเรยบเรยงตลอดจนคณะผจดทาชดวชาทกทานทใหความรวมมอดวยด ไว ณ โอกาสน

I am very happy to receive a letter from you. I told you in my first letter that I was born inBangkok and my family lives in Bangkok. I will tell you how Bangkok, my hometown, is like.

Bangkok is in the central part of Thailand. It is the capital and the largest city of the country.While the total population of Thailand is about 60-62 million, more than 10 million people live in Bangkok.

Bangkok was founded by king Rama I of the Chakri Dynasty in 1782 or 2325 B. E. Thai peoplecalled it Krung Thep, which means City of Angles. In the past, Bangkok was called “Venice of the East”by foreign travelers because there were a lot of canals in Bangkok. People used these canals as ways fortransportation. Now, there are very few canals in Bangkok. Most of the canals were filled. They weremade into roads. There are lot of cars and buses run all over the city. However, people still travel andtransport by boats on the Chao Phraya River, which is the longest river in Thailand.

Bangkok has a mixing features of the East and the West, traditional and modem. AlthoughBangkok is full of modern high-rise buildings, you can still find old and beautiful temples almost everywhere in Bangkok, for example, the Temple of Dawn or Wat Arun, and the famous Temple of EmeraldBuddha or Wat Phra Kaew . The Emerald Buddha is one of the most beautiful Buddha in Thailand. TheGrand Palace, a building adjoining to the temple of Emerald Buddha, is an example of a building with awell mixture of the Thai and the European building styles.

There are many interesting and worth visiting places in Bangkok and in other parts of Thailand.I cannot tell you about all of them in this letter. So, I send you a book about Thailand. I hope you enoyreading it. I am looking forward to hearing from you.
