About Anne FrankQ1: Why did Anne want to keep a diary?
Q2: If you were Anne , what would you do to deal with the situation?
Anne Frank was born in Frankfurt-am-
Main on 12th June1929. Her parents were
Jewish and she had a sister three years older
than herself. In 1933 the family fled from
Germany to escape persecution by the Nazis
and her father found a position as a manager
in a company in Amsterdam. Anne was given
a diary for her thirteenth birthday and began
writing in it the next day. She had a passion
for writing and mentions in her diary that she
plans to become a writer or journalist when
she grows up. Anne managed to keep her
diary going throughout the time her family
was in hiding; her last entry was written just
before the hiding place was discovered and
soldiers arrived to take the members of the
family off to concentration camps. After the
war was over, her diary was published and
became an immediate success. It has
remained in print ever since, and the story of
Anne’s life has been made into a Hollywood
film.……………………….

group.)• To keep a record of their daily life. To communicate with themselves. To write down the thoughts and feelings they might not want
others know. To leave something for their grandchildren To help them remember what has happened to them. To improve their writing skills To make them feel less lonely. To remember their glory details. It's probably the only book they will ever write Others:

Miep Invited to Freedom Writers
Miep Gies 1909-2010January 12, 2010
Last night, we lost a witness. Miep Gies passed away at the age of 100 in Amsterdam. As you know, Miep Gies was the catalyst for The Freedom Writers Diary, and for everything that has come since. It was Miep who challenged us to not let Anne Frank's death be in vain, and it was Miep who reminded us that no matter who you are or where you come from, you can be a hero - a light of hope in someone's life.
We are deeply saddened by Miep's
passing, but we know that her legacy will remain with all of us. Miep's visit in 1996 changed all of us forever. Here, you'll find what one of us had to say on that day...
