Previous work on Power Saving assumed Poisson Traffic (Zheng, R., Hou, J.C. and Sha, L., University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign)

Our work proposes a general model for bursty packet data traffic

Supporting seamless

vertical handoff for next

generation heterogeneous

all-IP 4G systems by

utilizing the multi-homing

feature of SCTP

appropriate transmission

path based on the signal

strength, bandwidth or

mobile IP (FMIP)

capability over next

generation

heterogeneous all-IP

4G systems

Previous works consider the issues for NEMO and FMIP independently. The NEMO without FMIP layer-2 support usually suffers from significantly long delay, which is intolerable for real-time multimedia applications (M. Calderón, Universidad Carlos III de Madrid)

Our work designs and implements mechanisms to integrate NEMO with FMIP and resolves the resultant tromboning routing
