International exams in English

Key English Test (KET) This exam is at basic level (A2) and it is a proof that you can use English for basic

communication in simple situations.

KET recognizes your ability to cope with everyday written and spoken

communications at a basic level. This exam presents real life situations and it is

designed for learners who have basic English skills, of the kind needed when travelling in English speaking countries.

Preliminary English Test (PET)This exam is at intermediate level (B1) and it can be helpful for your work, studies or travel, providing more opportunities.

PET reflects the use of language in real life, such as understanding signs and announcements, and is accepted by many employers as proof of ability to use English in clerical, secretarial or managerial jobs.

First Certificate in English (FCE)This exam is at upper-intermediate level (B2). It is an ideal exam for people who want to use English for work or study purposes.

FCE consists of five papers each of them testing one of the five linguistic competences –

reading, writing, using grammar (use

of English paper), listening, and

speaking.

Certificate in Advanced English (CAE)This exam is, obviously, at advanced level (C1) and it is a proof of extensive competence in English for academic and professional purposes.

CAE is an exam for advanced users of English. This exam is aimed at people who can use written and spoken English for most professional and social purposes. It is widely recognized for work or study purposes.

Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE)This exam is a proof of a very profound level of language competence in English (C2). CPE (Cambridge Exam C2 level) for teachers.

Business English Certificates (BEC)You may also choose to take a Cambridge international exam in Business English which has three levels: BEC Preliminary, BEC Vantage and BEC Higher, respectively, from intermediate through upper-intermediate to advanced (B1, B2, C1).

BEC in an exam are for those who need to use English in a business environment and they are recognized by employers, ministries, government bodies and professional organizations throughout the world.

Iinternational English Language Testing System (IELTS)This is an exam for those who are interested in international education or working in international business environment.

IELTS consists of four papers: Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking. There are two modules in IELTS: Academic and General. The Speaking and Listening tests are the same in both modules, but the Reading and Writing tests are different.
