iEARN Online Projects are based on collaborative learning strategies, designed to engage students in meaningful technology based learning opportunities. iEARN School Based Clubs is an initiative taken by iEARN Pakistan to empower students to become part of iEARN Community and help them use technology in a meaningful way. iEARN School Based Clubs will focus on importance of online collaborative learning in education and ways to engage students in online learning. The goal of this structured program is to equip students with latest technological skills, making them part of iEARN online projects and hence improving their academic output. It also helps educators integrate iEARN projects with their lesson planning and open doors to global collaboration.

Workshop Highlights:

Introduce iEARN Projects and iEARN Collaboration Centre

discuss strategies of collaborative learning and explore ways to implement iEARN Projects in teaching and learning

provide assistance to new schools who want to initiate iEARN Clubs in their schools

provide support to schools in planning iEARN project activities for next six months.

share the updates and progress of iEARN project activities in schools and discuss successes and challenges.

We all know the importance of self-development but what is new in this workshop is that it

identifies a well-defined process of self-development that is common to such different writers and

thinkers as Maulana Rumi, Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai, Allama Iqbal, Sheikh Fariduddin Attar, Stephen R.

Covey and William Shakespeare. The process is also linked with the seven stages of the soul and with

our common heritage.

This workshop is not limited to one subject. It is a workshop where every teacher will find something

of benefit to her or his subject, and every individual will gain insights into developing them. The

highest point, we hope, will be reached when you as participant will discover that some of the things

you already know are more valuable than you may have realized, and can be put to use so

beneficially in a journey of improving oneself as well as the society we live in.

Who should attend?

School administrators, teachers and parents

ACTIVITY BASED

TEACHING

3 MARCH (SATURDAY)

Time: 10:00am - 02:00pm

Language learning is a cognitive skill. We interpret our ideas and

thoughts in terms of language. Our capability of playing with words

and creating a new dimension always have given a creative approach

to Language

During recent years, a dialogue has been developed over approaches

to structure effective lesson planning, implementing and teaching. In

the Language classrooms there is always a room to innovate the

learning process. Learners never enjoy the learning approach where

they are given no liberty to experiment with their own language

skills. In a language classroom we can use countless ways of

expression which can help us in bridging the loop holes to make

learning experience more effective.

In Activity based teaching workshop we will be focusing on the on a

variety of activities that can aid the language learning process. The

workshop will focus in the following skills:

Increasing the motivation of learners

Designing and implementing Communicative Activities for

Effective Communication Skills

The ability of students to concentrate on learning and to communicate effectively has long been seen a challenge for most of the teachers. It is however, indeed the biggest desire of educators, parents and institutions to motivate the learners and help them develop this core skill.

Engaging students’ interest is not always straightforward, taking inspiration from Ken Wilson’s motivational techniques, the workshop will offer some hands-on and minds-on activities that the participants would adapt or adopt in their classrooms.

In order to achieve the desired goal to motivate the learners in classroom, the teachers need to revisit their sense of power they have in the classroom and relinquish too much control where possible. In doing so, teachers and students will earn from a shared learning experience.

The classrooms need to become less like a wheel where all the spokes lead to a center point, and more like a spider’s web. Though the teacher may ultimately remain the hub, the network has at the very least been widened.

It is expected that the proposed activities and strategies would motivate

and inspire teachers to reappraise the very ways they themselves motivate

and inspire in the classroom.

“Growth mindset” has become a buzzword when we talk about teaching and learning. But it is often seen that people’s understanding of this idea is limited.

Teachers can be powerful mentors to reinforce growth mindset principles and approaches in the youth they serve.

This workshop helps teachers build a mindset that leads to greater motivation and higher

achievement. Through experiential and interactive activities, teachers can learn strategies to

increase their own growth mindset as an educator as well as the youth in developing their mindsets

by applying various STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Math) based concepts

Twitter is an important tool that can be extremely helpful for educational purposes. Teachers and students from around the world can collaborate on projects using Twitter as a communication tool that simultaneously educates students in different classroom and cultural protocols.

This microblogging platform provides this opportunity to post short but powerful messages with enough information that is needed. Leading such busy lives, people do not have the time to read long text walls. They prefer to capture only the essence, and using Twitter in education helps you with that.

School management can use twitter as an effective marketing and promotion tool to connect with other people and businesses to share their educational endeavors, information and ideas.

During this workshop, facilitator will share useful resources to help teachers follow people who will be useful to them based on location, subject, grade level, and technology being used.

This Photography Workshop focuses on photography tips and lessons ranging from the basics of Point and Shoot, Powershot and DSLR cameras, and digital photography. The facilitators will share their expertise; provide tips and techniques, beneficial for both the novice and professionals. With the basic lessons on Photography you can begin to take better photos of any subject and get more enjoyment from your photography.
