大红门 dahongmen subway entrance, beijing china
DESCRIPTION
Designed for the new subway line running through the central North-South axis of Beijing and old Peking city, Dahongmen subway station reveals a twisting rusted steal frame concealed in the urban landscape. It's designed to mimic it's landscape in materiality, but rebel against it with it's protruding features. It uses way-finding techniques to draw users down under the city and upon return, circulate them back out to the street. It is made of pre-rusted steal and designed for easy construction and maintenance.TRANSCRIPT
