65 years ago plastics technology was still in its infancy when Heinz Faigle, the founder of the company, discovered a new ma-terial in thermoplastics. He laid the foundations for the success of the company with his search for innovation in engineering plastics. Since that time faigle has made a considerable contri-bution to plastics and plastics technology.

FUTURE CHALLENGES

Today, as always, research and development are highly impor-tant at faigle. New materials are always being tested, specific properties investigated for particular applications, existing materials improved and optimised. We focus our efforts on the solution: on research and development, using efficient processes and manufacturing methods all the way to the final product and application technology.

The decision to locate in Suzhou resulted from the consistent align-ment with the needs of our customers and proximity to the market.Our competence in China lies in the production of high quality plastic rollers from PAS PU for escalators and in the manufacture of ther-moplastic parts. Close cooperation with the plastics specialists in our Austrian headquarters is the foundation for the continuous develop-ment of new faigle plastic products and solutions.

FAIGLE kUNSTSTOFFE GMbH HARDA significant part of the work at our Hard headquarters in Austria is the research and development of new modified plastics. key process engi-neering developments in injection moulding, extrusion and machining are the basis for our innovative products. Tools developed in our own toolshop ensure that we can provide the perfect service including final installation of our components on site.

HIGHEST QUALITY STANDARDS

In order to ensure that we offer the highest quality standards, all of the sites in the faigle Group have been accredited according to the ISO DIN/EN 9001 standard as part of a group certification process. In addition, quality assurance at faigle also encompasses thermal, me-chanical, physical, light microscopy, geometric and application-specific tests in our own laboratories and on specially designed test benches.

CAD/CAM AND RAPID PROTOTYPING

State-of-the-art CAD and CAM systems are used to ensure a high-speed and efficient exchange of information with customers and data transfer. Latest calculation tools like FEM and Moldflow are available for optimising moulded parts. With the aid of a range of rapid prototyping methods we can offer necessary tests and evalu-ation techniques even before the start of series production.

ESCALATORSPlastic rollers made from faigle PAS PU materials are known and respected all over the world. The thermoplastic polyurethane has excellent mechanical properties, high abrasion resistance, hydrolysis stability and resistance to grease, corrosion protection coatings and the effects of the weather. 15 to 20 years of continuous use in harsh environ-ments and operating distances travelled of over 70,000 km even in severe conditions demonstrate our objectives and our success.

INjECTION MOULDINGIn the field of injection moulding, established technologies are being continuously refined, and new ones are being constantly added. Processing options are steadily optimised through our own in-house developments.

EXTRUSIONPioneering work is also being done by faigle in the field of extrusion, which is now establishing itself as a modern and highly-developed area of production for the manufacturing of technical/functional profiles, calendered films, compounds and semifinished products.

ASSEMbLYThe assembly department at faigle helps our customers to assemble components from injection-moulded parts through a combination of snap-fitting, welding and screwing. The result: components with maximum rigidity and strength but extremely low weight.
