    Abstract

This paper intended to clarify the expression methods of creative fashion illustration by summarizing the visual expression methods related with the scamper technique, which is one of creativity theories, and by using them for the analysis of fashion illustration works.

The expression methods of fashion illustration using seven scamper techniques are as per the below:

The substitute technique of the scamper, which is found in fashion illustration, substitutes a human body or a part of the human body, which is an expression factor of fashion images, with other object or it substitutes a part of the target for expression with a symbolical image. The combine technique combines the image, which can emphasize a topic, with the target for expression, which is used as the means to deliver a fashion message and to emphasize a fashion trend. The adapt technique makes a visual pleasure by giving new characteristics through the personification of the target for expression or the application of it to an unexpected place. The modify technique is found through the transformation of a human body caused by the magnification, the minimization, or the exaggeration of a part of the human body, through closeup for the emphasis of the topic, and through the comparison of size for the emphasis of the minimization or the magnification. The put on other use technique uses a tool or an image for other uses as an expression medium to express a human body or an apparel, through which it makes creative expressions. The eliminate technique deletes a part or all of the shapes or the colors of the target for expression. It has been used most frequently in the fashion illustration after 2000. It is used to emphasize a fashionable silhouette or a fashion item, and to express a fashion image. The reverse technique is found as the reverse of thoughts, the reverse of a screen, the negative effect of photographing, and the re-arrangement.
