Tropar of the Resurrection – Tone 7: You destroyed death by Your Cross. You opened paradise to the thief. You changed the Myrrh-Bearers weeping and commanded Your apostles to proclaim that You are risen, О Christ God, granting the world great mercy.

Tropar of the Saint – Tone 2: O be-loved Apostle of Christ our God, hasten to deliver a defenceless people, for He on Whose breast you leaned upon receives your intercession. Beseech Him, O Theo-logian, to dispel the besetting cloud of hea-then, and plead for peace, and great mercy on our behalf.

Kondak of the Resurrection – Tone 7: The dominion of death can no longer hold men captive, for Christ de-scended, shattering and destroying its power. Hades is bound while the prophets rejoice in harmony. The Saviour has come to those who believe, saying: come forth you faithful, unto the resurrection.

Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.

Kondak of the Saint – Tone 2: Who can describe your magnificence, O virgin Saint? You pour forth miracles and are a source of healings. You intercede for our souls as the Theologian and friend of Christ.

Ось те-пер час приємний, ось тепер день спасіння! Ні в чому ніякого споти-кання не робимо, щоб служіння було бездоганне, а в усьому себе виявляє-мо, як служителів Божих, у великім терпінні, у скорботах, у бідах, у тіс-нотах, у вдарах, у в’язницях, у розру-хах, у працях, у недосипаннях, у пос-тах, у чистості, у розумі, у лагідності, у добрості, у Дусі Святім, у нелицемі-рній любові, у слові істини, у силі Божій, зо зброєю правди в правиці й лівиці, через славу й безчестя, через ганьбу й хвалу, як обманці, але ми правдиві; як незнані, та познані, як умираючі, та ось ми живі; як карані, та не забиті; як сумні, але завжди ве-селі; як убогі, але багатьох ми збага-чуємо; як ті, що нічого не мають, але всім володіємо.

Theotokion – Tone 6: O Protection of Christians that cannot be put to shame, unchanging mediation unto the Creator, do not despise the suppliant voices of sin-ners, but be quick to come to our aid, O Good One, who in faith cry out to You: Hasten to intercession and come quickly to make supplication, for You, O Theotokos, always protect those who honour You.

(IІ Cor. 6:1-10) Brethren! Being co-workers, we beseech that you not receive the grace of God in vain. For He says: In an acceptable time I heard you, and in a day of salvation, I helped you! Behold, now is the accepted time, for, now is the day of salvation! We do not cause stum-bling in anything, that the ministry may be blameless, and in everything reveal our-selves as God’s servants, in great misery, in trouble, in sorrow, in confinement, in beating, in prisons, in riots, in labours, in unrest, in fasting; in pureness, in knowledge, in long-suffering, in kindness, in the Holy Spirit, in love unfeigned, in the Word of Truth, in the power of God, through the weapons of righteousness on the right hand and on the left, through glo-ry and dishonor, through evil report and good report; as deceivers and yet true; as unknown and yet well known; as dying and, behold, we live; as chastened and not killed; as sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, yet possessing all things.

(I Jn. 4:12-19) Brethren! No one has ever seen God. If we love one another, God abides in us and His love is perfected

Коли хто визнає, що Ісус то Син Божий, то в нім Бог пробуває, а він у Бозі. Ми пізнали й увірували в ту любов, що Бог її має до нас. Бог є любов, і хто пробуває в любові, пробуває той в Бозі, і в нім Бог пробуває! Любов удо-сконалюється з нами так, що ми маємо відвагу на день судний, бо який Він, такі й ми на цім світі. Страху немає в любові, але досконала любов проганяє страх геть, бо страх має муку. Хто ж боїться, той не досконалий в любові. Ми любимо Його, бо Він перше нас полюбив.

Стих: Сповіщати вранці про милість Твою, і вночі про правду Твою.

(Лк. 5:1-11) І сталось, як тиснувся натовп до Нього, щоб почути Слово Бо-же, Він стояв біля озера Генісаретсько-го. І Він побачив два човни, що стояли край озера. А рибалки, відійшовши від них, полоскали невода. І Він увійшов до одного з човнів, що був Симонів, і просив, щоб він трохи відплив від зем-лі. І Він сів, та й навчав народ із човна. А коли перестав Він навчати, промовив до Симона: Попливи на глибінь, і заки-ньте на полов свій невід. in us. By this we know that we abide in Him and He in us, because He has given us of His own Spirit. And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent His Son as the Savior of the world. Whoever confess-es that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in Him, and he in God. So we know and believe the love God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him. In this is love perfected with us, that we may have confi-dence for the day of judgment, because as He is so are we in this world. There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and he who fears is not perfected in love. We love Him, because He loved us first.

And He sat down and taught the peo-ple out of the boat. And as He stopped speaking, He said to Simon: Launch out into the deep and let your nets down for a haul. And answering, Simon said to Him: Master, we have toiled all the night and have taken nothing. Yet at Your word I will let down the net. And doing this, they en-closed a great multitude of fish. Бо від полову риби, що зловили вони, обгор-нув жах його та й усіх, хто з ним був, та-кож Якова й Івана, синів Зеведеєвих, що були спільниками Симона. І сказав Ісус Симонові: Не лякайсь, від цього ча-су ти будеш ловити людей! І вони по-витягали на землю човни, покинули все, та й пішли вслід за Ним.

(Ін. 19:25-27, 21:24-25) Під хрестом же Ісуса стояли Його ма-ти, і сестра Його матері, Марія Клеопова, і Марія Магдалина. Як побачив Ісус матір та учня, що стояв тут, якого любив, то каже до матері: Оце, жоно, твій син! Потім каже до учня: Оце мати твоя! І з тієї години той учень узяв її до се-бе. Це той учень, що свідчить про це, що й оце написав. І знаємо ми, що правдиве свідоцтво його! Бага-то є й іншого, що Ісус учинив. Але думаю, що коли б написати про все те зокрема про кожне, то й сам світ не вмістив би написаних книг! Амінь.

(Jn. 19:25-27, 21:24-25) Standing by the cross of Jesus were His mother, and His mother's sister, Mary the wife of Cleopas, and Mary Magdalene. When Jesus saw His mother, and the disciple whom He loved, standing there, He said to His mother: Woman, behold, your son! Then He said to the disciple: Behold, your mother! And from that hour that disciple took her to his own home. This is that disciple who is bearing witness to this, and who has written these things. And we know that his testimony is true! There are also many other things that Jesus did. But I believe that were every one of them to be written about separately, then the world itself could not contain the books that would be written! Amen.

A NOTE REGARDING COMMUNION – The Holy Orthodox Church understands Communion to mean that we have all things in common, sharing an identical Faith, and only those who are members of the Orthodox Church and who have prepared themselves through prayer, fasting and recent confession may participate in Holy Communion. Following reception of Holy Communion, we should stay in the church until the conclusion of the Liturgy. Our fellowship begins after we venerate the Cross and receive the Blessed Bread (Antidoron - of which all may partake). If you have questions concerning the above, or if you would like to become a member of the Or-thodox Church, please feel free to speak with Fr. Taras or Fr. Timothy.

ПРО СВ. ІОАННА БОГОСЛОВА

За свідченням всіх чотирьох Євангелій, Іоанн був одним із 12 апостолів, яких покликав Ісус Христос, і належав до його улюблених учнів разом з Петром та Яковом. Іоанн згаданий у всіх чотирьох Євангеліях та Діяннях Апостолів. Іоанн представлений у Євангеліях також і як син Заведея та брат Якова. Іоанн та Яків були рибалками на Генісаретському озері. Обоє синів Заведея отримали від Ісу-са прізвисько «Воанергес». За християнською традицією матір'ю синів Заведея була Саломія. Традиція виходить із двох уривків Євангелій від Марка та Матвія Мт. 27:56 та Мк.15:40 які згадують про «Саломію» і «матір синів Заведея». Коли Господь покликав його, Іоанн покинув родину і разом з братом Яковом пішов за Христом. З того часу і до кінця Господнього земного служіння Іоанн не полишав Його. Разом з Петром та Яковом він був присутнім під час воскресіння дочки Яі-ра, а також при Переображенні Господньому. Коли всі Апостоли покинули Госпо-да у Його Страстях, Іоанн залишився і стояв разом з Матір'ю Ісуса під Хрестом. Він служив і оберігав її до Успіння, після чого зі своїм учнем Прохором пропові-дував у Малій Азії. Працював і жив переважно в м. Ефес.
