TheEffectsofGibberellin(GA3)ConcentrationontheGrowth,YieldandQualityofTobaccoUpperLeavesBULingduo,JISigui,LIJiangzhouetal (YuxiBranchofYunnanTobaccoCompany,Yuxi,Yunnan653100)Abstract [Objective]Toresearchtheeffectsofdifferentconcentrationsofgibberellin(GA3)onthegrowthofupperleavesoffluecuredtobacco.[Method]Fieldtestwascarriedinmountainousanddamlandbyoneyearmultisites.Effectsofdifferentconcentrationsofgibberellin(GA3)ontheupperleavesarea,dryweight,yieldandchemicalcomponentswerestudied.[Result]ThegrowthrateofbothaverageleafareasanddryweightoftobaccouppersixleaveswereincreasedandthendeclinedasthesprayingconcentrationofGA3increasedfrom0to50mg/L,meanwhilethegrowthratesdeclinedwiththedropofleafposition.Forthemountainoustobacco,thesprayingof20mg/LGA3increasedtheleafareaanddryweightoftobaccouppersixleavesby20%,whichresultedin5.21% and14.97% yieldincreaseofXinpingandYimenCounties,respectively.Forthedamtobacco,thesprayingof30mg/LGA3increasedleafareasanddryweightby25%-30%,whichresultedin7.00% and11.91% yieldincreaseofXinpingandEshanCounties,respectively.Atthesametime,thetwotreatmentscouldreducethecontentsofnicotine,increasethetotalpotassium,andimprovethecoordinationofchemicalcomponentsoftobaccoupperleavesinboththemountainousanddamland.[Conclusion]ThesprayingofappropriateGA3concentrationeffectivelypromotedtheexpansion,increasedtheyield,andresultedinthecoordinationofchemicalcomponentsinthetobaccoupperleaves.LowerGA3concentrationsshowednoobviouseffects,whilethehigherGA3concentrationsdelayedthematureofupperleavesandaffectedthebakingqualityoftobacco.Keywords Fluecuredtobacco;Upperleaves;Leafexpansion;Quality;Gibberellin(GA3)concentration
