    No. 10 Internment Camp, Chatham and Fiogal, Onto

    Opened 15 May 1944 at Chatham as a tented camp housing approximately 326enemy merchant seamen from Monteith (Camp 23) who were employed on farmingprojects in southwestern Ontario. Some were employed in plants of LibbyMcNeill Company and the Canadian Dominion Sugar Company.

    Camp closed 15 November 1944 and prisoners returned to Monteith. Campre-opened 1 May 1945, moved to Finga1 1 December and closed 14 November1946.

    Camp capacity was 325 and, in 1945-1946, included some combatant of-ficers and other ranks in addition to internees and enemy merchant seamen.Strength of camp at Fingal in April 1946 was 248, of whom 218 were merchantseamen working on farms.

    No. 32 Internment Camp, Bull, Quebec(formerly Camp B)

    Opened 9 August 1941 in the newly constructed provincial jail in ValT6treau.First occupants were 90 members of the Communist Party of Canada whowere transferred from Petawawa (Camp 33) 20 August 1941 after troubledeveloped between them and Fascist internees at PetawawaThe Communists were released one by one after the hearing of their casesby the Advisory Committee, beginning in April 1942. All had beenreleased by'October 19427 anti Nazi prisoners of war at Espanola (camp 21) and 10 from Ozada(Camp 133), all seeking protection, arrived in September 194225 arrived from Petawawa, Farnham (Camp 40) and Fredericton (Camp 70) inOctober 194220 arrived from Fort Henry (Camp 31) in March 1943, 24 from Petawawa inseptember 194360 refugees arrived from Ile aux Noix (Camp 41) in October-November1943, 50 of whom returned to UK in NovemberRemaining prisoners in Hull Camp were employed in the Ottawa-Hull area,many on farmsCamp disbanded 20 March 1947
