●Birthplace of Toyotomi Hideyoshi This stone monument was built in 1911 to mark the location of Hideyoshi’s birth.
●Toyokuni Shrine A shrine located in Nakamura Park. Constructed in 1885 to enshrine Hideyoshi as a deity.
●Aka-torii Gateway This large red torii gateway stands more than 24 meters high and is the symbol of Nakamura Park as the entrance to Toyokuni Shrine
●Josen-ji Temple This temple was built in 1606 by Kiyomasa and Priest Nissho of Enjuin Temple in order to worship Hideyoshi
●Hideyoshi & Kiyomasa Memorial Museam City of Nagoya This historical museum displays materials related to Hideyoshi and Kiyomasa, both of whom were born in Nakamura Ward. 10:00-17:00 (free admission) Mondays (the following day if Monday is a holiday), 3rd Friday of the month, Dec. 29-Jan. 3

●Myogyo-ji Temple Kato Kiyomasa used material remaining from the construction of Nagoya Castle in order to build this temple on the site of his birth.

Known for his ability to influence others through skillful speech, Hideyoshi unified the whole country through attentiveness towards others and sound judgment. Kiyomasa gained fame for his prowess in hunting tigers and was known as a great commander possessing both wisdom and courage. In Nakamura Park, visitors can learn about the background of these two extraordinary leaders.

Kiyomasa was a large man of 2 meters in height?! Based on the measurements of swords and kimonos used by Kiyomasa, it is estimated that he was from 188 to 200 centimeters in height.
