Contoh 1 :Hitung motor power eskalator 1000 mm, sudut incl = 30, rise 4.0 m, kecepatan 0.5 m/s.P = C x S C = Capasitas nominal dalam kg 6120 x S = 30 m/m (0.5 m/s)
= 0.80 efisiensi sistem6120 = angka konversi kgm/m/kw
Asumsi kapasitas effective 50% Berat penumpang 68 kg/orang x 2 orangC = (1.732 x 4.0 m / 0.4 m) x 50% x 2 x 68 kg = 1178 kg
P = 1178 kg x 30 m/m = 7.2 kW 6120 x 0.80 Gunakan motor dengan rating 7.5 kw
(power rating + 50% diatas power output)

Contoh 2 :Perhitungan motor power eskalator 600 mm, sudut incl = 30, rise 6.0 m, kecepatan 0.50 m/s (30 m/m).
Asumsi kapasitas effective 50 %Satu orang per step (68 kg)C = (1.732 x 6.0 m / 0.4 m) x 50% x 1 x 68 kg = 883 kgP = 883 x 30 = 5.4 kW 6120 x 0.80 Gunakan motor dengan rating 5.7 kW
(5% diatas 5.4 kW)
Catatan : 1.732 ialah tangens 30, yaitu jarak kerja horizontal 0.40 ialah panjang step horizontal
Jumlah step yang bekerja = 1.732 x Rise/0.4 meter.
