Installation conditionsInstallation conditionsInstallation conditionsInstallation conditionsInstallation conditionsObserve all applicable installation regulations, general guidelines and technical specifica-tions.
The unit must be installed as described in theinstallation and operating instructions guide,in compliance with AVB Wasser V, Art. 12(general requirements for the supply of waterin Germany), by a water supply company or bya party registered in the water supplycompanys index of fitters.
The installation site must be protected against
frost and must ensure protection of the filteragainst solvent vapours, fuel oil, suds, acidiccleaning agents, chemicals of all types, directUV irradiation and heat sources over 40 C.

Multipur backwash filters serve to protect wa-ter piping and all connected fittings, devices, works equipment, boiler systems, boilers, pro-
duction systems etc. against malfunctioningand damage caused by corrosion and impuri-ties.
The filters can also be used for the filtration ofwell, process, boiler feed, cooling and airconditioning water. The filters are not suitable for oils, greases, solvents, soaps and other lubricating media.Water-soluble substances can also not beprecipitated out.
FunctionFunctionFunctionFunctionFunction
The untreated water flows into the Multipurthrough a filter element made of stainlesssteel. Impurities > 100 m or, respectively,
> 200 m are trapped. Depending on theirweight and size, these particles either falldirectly onto the lower section of the filterelement or cling to the filter element.
During backwashing, the closure elementopens up to the flushing water outlet. Thesuction ring segments of the backwashingelement move up and down and back againover the entire filter surface, vacuuming thefilter cloth with treated water at an extremelyhigh flow speed.
Backwashing takes place automatically afterthe preset backwash interval has elapsed.
The pressure difference between the untreatedwater inlet and the treated water outlet of thefilter is measured. The backwashing process is triggered prima-rily by differential pressure. If heavy soiling of the filter element causes thepressure difference to exceed the preset value(approx. 0.8 bar) within the preset backwashinterval, then the differential pressure genera-tor triggers a backwashing. The preset back-wash interval starts again.
The filter is equipped with a central instrumen-tation and control (CIC) connection (contactcloses in the event of malfunction or powerfailure).

Functional and warranty conditionsFunctional and warranty conditionsFunctional and warranty conditionsFunctional and warranty conditionsFunctional and warranty conditionsFilters require regular functional monitoring, maintenance and replacement of operatingparts at certain intervals. See the installationand operating instructions for the maintenanceintervals. We recommend that you enter into aservice agreement.
For electrical connection in a range of approx.1.2 m, a separate electrical socket (230V~/50Hz) is necessary. The supply of power mustbe permanently ensured. There should be novoltage spikes above 1 kV.
A coarse sediment collector must be installedupstream for water containing coarse sedi-ment particles > 2 mm.
To backwash, flushing water with a flow of atleast 1.4 l/sec. or 5 m3/h must be available. The available pressure may not fall below2.5 bar during the backwashing.
A connection to the sewage system (min.DN 50) must be available for draining theflushing water.
Avoid extreme water hammering.
