In the movie “God’s not dead”, there is one line that was repeated by the two pastors in the film, “God is good – all the time; and all the time – God is good.” Indeed, over the last year or so Khai and I had really felt how incredibly true this is. Surely there were problems and hard times, but the minute we stop worrying and complaining about those, and focus on God instead, He sent us His peace that transcends all understanding and along with it all the provision that we couldn’t even imagine before. Every little thing, most of which we have not even thought of, was taken care of by His perfect plan. God is just so good, despite us being so unworthy – so praise Him for His loving grace and mercy.

This month, the news that Target taking a pro stance on the controversial LBGT bathroom policy has captured the attention of many concerning parents (myself included now). Should we boycott Target, along with all the other pro-gay organizations? How should we react to the LBGT community? How should we educate our younger generation on the matter? All these questions have been discussed by the

Living Spring fellowship and the discourse summarized by

Martin (see 活泉點滴 this issue). One thing I took home was

that we Christians are not fighting any earthly organizations, but rather this is a spiritual battle against the evil one. Sometimes we Christian got caught up by the commotion and miss the real “Target”, which is to follow and lift up Christ rather than putting down so and so. So when we consider our reactions in like situations, I think the first to consider is, “Would Christ be glorified and the Gospel be heard?”

會中討論一下。因為這

是影響著我們社會的一

個議題，亦影響著我們

一直教導兒女的一個價

值觀。 本文不能把整個討論都分享出來，只能節錄其中部分內容。其實在

團契討論的目的不是要告訴弟兄姊妹怎樣做，但希望藉著討論，讓

不同的意見發表，使我們了解更多。 事件背景是 Target 這家大型連鎖零售店決定允許變性員工及顧客

可以依自己的性別認同，選擇男或女用廁所及更衣室。

【Target 的此項政策雖然對男女同志、雙性戀者以及跨性別者

(LGBT)起到很好的保護作用，但並沒有給出如何鑒別廁所和試衣間

使用者性別認知的標準和方法。男的可以说，『我覺得我今天是個

女的』，不論廁所裏有沒有女性在場，他們都能輕鬆走進女廁所，

American Family Association 認為 Target 的這一政策完全就是

給那些性愛狂魔一個接近受害者的機會。

「美國家庭協會」（AFA）指控 Target 公司這項規定，讓婦人與女

童上廁所及更衣室時，暴露在偷窺狂與性侵者的眼中。已獲得超過

100 萬個簽名，進行杯葛及請願。】北美新浪報道。 這個月來，網上充滿著不同角度的觀點與意見，我們收集了不少文

章，嘗試從三點看看如何面對這個新的政策。 1）杯葛 Target 是不是我們唯一可行的方法？

其實除了 Target 以外，還有其他公司都很支持 LGBT 的團體，如

Starbucks, Apple, AT&T, Disneyland, Amazon.com,

McDonald’s, Coca-Cola, etc. 如果要一一杯葛的話，相信對我

們的生活有很大的影響。 但另一方面，杯葛真的有用嗎？又可以維持到多久？很多年前迪士

尼樂園舉行第一次【同性戀日】，當年很多人出來杯葛。但今天，

迪士尼沒有倒閉，我們還會讓我們的小朋友穿上 Forzen 的公主裙

去生日派對！ 2）如何面對小朋友的問題？

● 要讓小朋友知道我們基督徒所信的是甚麼。同性戀、雙性戀

以及跨性別者都不是上帝喜悅的生活模式。 ● 但我們應該對任何人都以愛和尊重彼此相待。教會就是罪人

的家！我們每一個都需要耶穌。 ● 小朋友亦要知道神給我們自由意志去選擇要做甚麼。但我們

每日都應該作出討神喜悅的選擇。 ● 小朋友要明白安全第一的意思。盡量避免他們自己一個上廁

所。

3）基督徒應如何面對？

● 以弗所書 第 6 章 12 節 【因我們並不是與屬血氣的爭戰，

乃是與那些執政的，掌權的，管轄這幽暗世界的，以及天空

屬靈氣的惡魔爭戰‧】我們要小心，因為我們爭戰的對象不

是 Target， 不是 LGBT 的團體，而是惡魔。我們不應該對

那些還未認識神的人，作出完全的指責。我們更不應該嘲笑

或貶低別人，因為這不能建立神的王國。 ● 加拉太書 第 5 章 22-23 節 【聖靈所結的果子，就是仁愛，

，良善，信實，溫柔，節制‧這樣的事，沒有律法禁止‧】 做

任何事都應該帶著聖靈的果子去做。我們有愛人嗎？有溫柔

節制嗎？有忍耐嗎？ ● WWJD 耶穌會怎做？約翰福音 第 13 章 34-35 【我賜給你們

一條新命令，乃是叫你們彼此相愛‧我怎樣愛你們，你們也

要怎樣相愛‧你們若有彼此相愛的心，眾人因此就認出你們

是我的門徒了‧】彼此相愛，讓人看出我們是主的門徒！而

不是唔討厭你，你討厭他，他討厭我... 有人說，如果耶穌

在，祂很有可能會站在 Target 的廁所門口，去關懷、去愛

那些還未認識祂的人... 我們又會怎樣做呢？

God Is The Lord And We Are His Servants

The last weeks we have been reminded that our focus should be on

God and not on ourselves. Whether it is in worship, at work, or in every

aspect of our lives, our focus should be on God.

Toward the end of April, we had Pastor Andrew Ma visiting CBCCOC.

Pastor Ma is the candidate for the Senior Pastor position at our church. He

gave a talk on the subject of Asian Folk Religions. Specifically he talked about

Feng Shui and other form of Chinese Astrology. He also went over some of

the reasons why people superstitiously relied on these folk religions. Some

people might want to have control over their lives and future. Instead of

relying on God who has control over everything, they turn to these believes.

But as Christians, we know we just need to trust our Lord. We already

have our sins cleansed by the perfect lamb Jesus Christ. We also know that

at the end of our journey in this world, we will have eternal lives through

our faith in Jesus.

A week after that, brothers and sisters gathered together in our

assigned cell groups. We continued our studying from Purpose Drive Life.

For some of us in the Plus One group, we studied the chapters on spiritual

growth and spiritual transformation. The process of becoming a Christ-like

disciple is a long process. Instead of focusing on ourselves, the focus

should be on God. He is our Lord. We need to listen to Him, knows His

purpose, and understand His ways, so that we can join Him at His works.

On the week of the May 13th, we also had a very great joint fellowship

with the Emmanuel Fellowship. Brother Simon Ho gave a talk on being a

Christian at the workplace. In his talk, Simon made references to Genesis.

In particular, he used the chapters that surround the transformation of

Joseph from a naive boy to someone whose decisions relied solely on God.

Through the story of Joseph, we learned that how important it is to be a

faithful servant not just to your boss at work but ultimately to God. God

used Joseph to save His people and the Egyptians from many years of

famines. Like Joseph, we should be faithful servants at our workplaces.

Our focus should be on how we can serve according to His will.

Lastly, Proverbs 75: 5-7 is a good reminder of who we should be focusing in

every aspect of our lives:

Do not lift your horns against heaven;

do not speak so defiantly.’”

No one from the east or the west

or from the desert can exalt themselves.

It is God who judges:

He brings one down, he exalts another.

This weekend was Mother’s Day. Jason shared the concepts of “Tiger Mother” and modern mothers. We shared how each of our mothers are and unforgettable moments with

her. It reminded us how mighty our mothers are.

May 13

This week Nick continued to share the second part of the “Five Love Language”. It is about what the Bible says are the most important factors in a marriage and how it classifies the character for a husband and a wife in their family. Moreover, Heidi shared her testimony, discussing her childhood, why she came to LFS, and how God works and builds her up in her life.

May 20

This week we had cell group. We continued to read the book “Crazy Love”. The chapter we read explored what is a lukewarm Christian. It listed what factors make us lukewarm Christians these days. It was good time for us to check what areas we can improve upon in our lives.

Praise the Lord that we had a blessing baby shower with Brothers and

Sisters' help.

Thank God that we move in our new home safely and peacefully.

Hope God's guidance of our new home remodeling smoothly and before

Quinci’s birth.

Praise God for his endless love and mercy. Our child birth process has

been smooth and very blessed. Praise Him for always providing more

than we can even ask for. May this strengthen our faith in our future

trials and toils.

Pray for health and strength to take of Tobiah, and wisdom to lean on

Him in everything.

Pray for a friend who is currently going through hardship and in need of a

place to stay. Pray that God will provide her physical needs and grant her

peace that transcends understanding.

Pray for our doula who resists to know Christ. Pray that the holy Spirit

will meet her in a powerful way, and that we can be a good testimony.

Pray for wisdom and guidance for our whole church in the rest of the

senior pastor search process.
