Define and explain what the humanities are and what a humanist is. Be sure to list the fields that are encompassed by the definitions. Discuss how our contemporary definition of the humanities differs from that of the Middle Ages. How do values play a role in the humanities? Discuss how you have developed an appreciation for the relevance of the humanities by explaining how they relate to your personal and/or professional life; for example, how has/will new knowledge, skills, and attitudes learned in this course apply to your chosen career?
