Due to the lack of more useful information such as geological structure, gas,

hydrogeololgy, roof and floor conditions, power supply, transportation and ventilation

system, we made the proposal below just according to the available information.

1. About the Supporting Method and Cross-section of the Roadway

(ventilation roadway and mechanical roadway)

1.1 Trapezoid roadway

Ventilation roadway: upper net width is 2.4-2.6m, lower net width is 3.4-3.5m, net

height is 2.1-2.2m.

Mechanical roadway: upper net width is 2.9-3.1m, lower net width is 4-4.1m, net

height is 2.1-2.2m.

1.2 Semi-circular arched roadway

Ventilation roadway: net height is 3.1m, net width is 3-3.2m.

Mechanical roadway: net height is 3.1m, net width is 4m.(Comprehensive

transportation roadway)

1.3 Abnormity roadway

Ventilation roadway: lying side net height is 2m, net width is 3.2-3.5m, and is

suggested to be supported by wire meshes beam.

Mechanical roadway: lying side net height is 2-2.2m, net width is 4-4.2m.

The three roadways above need to be controlled according to the middle waist line

when advancing.

1.4 The layout of open-off cut

The hydraulic support of the trend width could add 1m additional, the supporting

system is suggested to use wire meshes beam.

2 Estimation of the Annual Output and Monthly Output

Advancing output per 1m: 160*1.1*1.4*1=246.4 ton.

(longwall working face length*mining height*density*advancing rate)

Daily output could be 591-887 ton based on 4-6 circulation.

Monthly output could be 14775-22175ton if works 25 days.

The annual output could reach 147750-221750ton if works 10 months (deducting the

dismantlement and installation of the working face).

If there’s no coal and gas outburst, no heavy tectonic fault, the maximum annual

output could be 350000-400000ton.

Generally speaking, the annual output is 250000-300000ton, because in the ultra low

coal seam the coal shearer couldn’t operate too fast, the machine height will influence

the coal production, workers’ physical exertion is too heavy and etc. The lower end of

the working surface needs to be made an advance gap. The monthly advancing rate is

60-100m, and annual advancing rate is 700-1000m.
