• The earth is where man has labored, lived and multiplied since ancient times, and man has but only one earth! So please treat it fairly! To save the earth is to save man himself.
• Today, disposable commodities, such as super-thin plastic bags, fast food containers and disposable chopsticks, are widely used. The problem is that they are not biodegradable. So we should carry our own bags and eating utensils when going out, refusing to use plastic shopping bags and disposal chopsticks. We should also advocate simple packing and refuse to buy products wrapped up in extensive and luxurious packaging.
• As green products are pollution-free and e
nvironmentally friendly, consumption of the
m could stimulate production and reduce p
olluting products.
• The irrational consumption of wildlife speeds up its extinction. Thousands of wild animals are being endangered or face extinction just because some people want to have a delicious dish or a pretty outfit. These people should feel ashamed and ought to be condemned.
• In large cities, pollution caused by car exhausts is becoming more and more serious. While enjoying the convenience of cars, people are “enjoying” the air pollution. Consumers should be encouraged to use public transportation or ride bicycles to bring down pollution and resource consumption.
• We should arouse people’s awareness in
environmental protection and make them r
ealize resources-related problems have a
direct bearing on us and the generations t
o come.
• introduce environmental education to primary schools wh
ere students should be encouraged to do their bit for the
environment in their daily lives.
• strengthen scientific research on green products. If there
are no substitutes in the market, polluting products might
be the only choice for the customers.
• We should actively participate in publicizing the concept
of environmental protection and other activities to further
encourage people around us to safeguard our shared en
vironment. We should put our hands together and do wh
atever we can so that future generations can live in a per
manent home called earth.
• Reduce:• purchasing durable, long-lasting goods seeking products
and packaging that are as free of toxics as possible redesigning products to use less raw material in production, have a longer life, or be used again after its original use.
• Reuse• Reusing items—by repairing them, donating them to cha
rity and community groups, or selling them—also reduces waste. Reusing products, when possible, is even better than recycling because the item does not need to be reprocessed before it can be used again.
• Recycle• Recycling turns materials that would otherwise become
waste into valuable resources. It generates a host of environmental, financial, and social benefits. Materials like glass, metal, plastics, and paper are collected, separated and sent to facilities that can process them into new materials or products.
In a word, in the midst of a magnificent div
ersity of cultures and life forms we are one h
uman family and one Earth community with a
common destiny. We must join together to br
ing forth a sustainable global society founde
d on respect for nature and the global enviro
nment.
