Introduction 소개

The Master of Divinity (MDiv) is a 3-year program especially designed for those who are preparing for pastoral ministry and/or other Christian ministries. An important characteristic of the MDiv pro-gram is the nature of its comprehensive study in the biblical, theological, and practical areas with exegesis of Scripture in the original languages (Hebrew and Greek). The MDiv is also appropriate for those who desire to pursue ThM or PhD degrees.

목회학석사(MDiv)과정은 3년 과정으로서 특별히 목회사역과 기타 기독교 사역을 준비하는

사람들을 위해 개설되었습니다. 이 과정을 통해 학생은 다양한 기독교 사역 분야에서 일할 수

있도록 준비됩니다. 목회학석사과정의 주요 특징은 원어(히브리어와 헬라어)로 된 성서

주해와 함께 성서적, 신학적, 실천적 영역을 포괄적으로 연구한다는 데 있습니다.

목회학석사과정은 신학석사(ThM) 또는 철학박사(PhD)/신학박사(ThD) 과정을 공부하고자 하는

학생들에게도 적합합니다.

2-A. MDiv (in English) The English MDiv curriculum is divided into three tracks: (1) Track P: Pastoral Ministry, (2) Track M: Mission and Culture, (3) Track S: Biblical and Theological Studies. Students must choose a track be-fore they start their 3rd semester and take courses accordingly. Changing tracks may delay one’s graduation.

Graduation Requirements

1. Pass 85 credit-hours of coursework (must pass 68 core credits, 14 track-core credits and 3 free elective credits) and obtain a minimum GPA of 2.0 (cumulative) 2. Pass the chapel requirement for the duration of program 3. Pass the Bible exam 4. Complete the Student Retreat requirement for 6 semesters 5. Bible Reading requirement for 4 semesters

• Please note that although the ACSI certificate program is a voluntary and optional

program—in addition to and separate from MDiv—all MDiv students can pursue the

ACSI certificate if their schedule is flexible, since we have our own MACE and MEd

programs in which all ACSI courses are offered.

❖ Here are some procedural considerations:

(1) To be enrolled in this program, you need to register through Torch Trinity Center for

Education and Ministry (TTCEM), which coordinates the ACSI program.

(2) Students need to take ACSI courses (minimum 14 credits) in addition to the MDiv

graduation requirement, i.e., general core (68 credits) and track core (14 credits).

(3) Since all or most ACSI courses are offered primarily for the MACE and MEd students,

the MDiv students might face some difficulty in terms of class schedule conflicts. In

such a case, you should take the MDiv courses first and wait for the same ACSI class

to be offered next time (ACSI courses are usually offered in an annual cycle).

(4) If you find it impossible to fulfill all the ACSI requirements before your graduation,

you may return and complete the ACSI program after the graduation. For graduates,

the ACSI course tuition is 70% of the regular program tuition.
