1909 [M.42]■ 九州帝国大学の前身、京都帝国大学福岡医科大学に附属図書館設置Fukuoka Medical College Library was established

1922 [T.11]■ 九州帝国大学附属図書館設置（事務室を医学部構内に設置）Kyushu Imperial University Library was established

1925 [T.14]■ 箱崎地区に附属図書館本館開館（蔵書数約 3,500 冊）The new library opened at Hakozaki Campus

1926 [T.15]■ 私立福岡図書館の旧蔵書 1 万冊が寄託される（九大図書館初の大規模なコレクション受入「広瀬文庫」）"Hirose Collection" was deposited by Fukuoka Private Library(The initial large collection of Kyushu University Library)

1932 [S.8]■ 「九州帝国大学図書目録」刊行 (～1941.全5分冊）The "Catalogue of Kyushu Imperial University Library" was issued

1944 [S.19]■ 貴重図書を太宰府神社へ疎開、一般書も佐賀県小城郡等に疎開 戦時中も21時までの夜間開館を続けるTo avoid damage during the war, many of the stored books were moved from the library to Dazaifu Shrine or other areas

1911 [M.44]■ 九州帝国大学創立Kyushu Imperial University was founded

1947 [S.22]■ 九州帝国大学が九州大学に改称、九州大学附属図書館となるKyushu Imperial University became Kyushu University. The name of Library changed to Kyushu University Library

1950 [S.25]■ 九州地区大学図書館協議会設立Kyushu Regional Conference of University Libraries was inaugurated

1956 [S.31]

The new Library of the Faculty of Medicine opened (the first branch library of Kyushu University Library)

■ 医学部図書館開館（蔵書数約 16 万冊）附属図書館医学部分館設置

1959 [S.34]■ 附属図書館教養部分館設置The Library of General Education was inaugurated (the second branch library)

■ 文献複写業務開始Photocopy service was introduced

1965 [S.40]■ 館報「図書館情報」を創刊Kyushu University Library Bulletin "Toshokan Joho" was first issued

1968 [S.43]■ 九州芸術工科大学開設附属図書館設置Kyushu Institute of Design was founded. Kyushu Institute of Design Library was inaugurated

■ 医学部中央図書室設置The Central Library Room of the Faculty of Medicine was inaugurated

1992 [H.4]■ OPACサービス開始OPAC (Online Public Access Catalog) service was introduced

■ 教養部改組により、教養部分館を六本松分館に改称The Library of General Education was renamed the "Ropponmatsu Library" after the reorganization of the College of General Education

1996 [H.8]■ 附属図書館研究開発室を設置The Research and Development Division was organized

1998 [H.10]■ 医学分館、磁気カードによる無人開館で 24 時間開館を実施A new 24-hour service without any staff started at the Medical Library with users using magnetic authoriza-tion cards

■ 医学分館の『Collected Papers』が国立大学図書館協議会賞受賞The publication of "Collected Papers" won the Award of the Association of National University Libraries (Medical Library)

1999 [H.11]■ 「Web of Science（ISI 社）」の契約及びサービス開始（国内初）The "Web of Science" was introduced

■ ソウル大学校中央図書館と図書館間交流協定を締結（国内初）A Library Exchange Agreement was concluded with the Seoul National University Library

■ 国立台湾大学図書館と図書館間交流協定を締結A Library Exchange Agreement was concluded with the National Taiwan University Library

■ 九州大学と九州芸術工科大学が統合、芸術工学分館設置Kyushu University was integrated with Kyushu Institute of Design. The Design Library was inaugu-rated as the fourth branch library

■ 文系 4部局図書室が統合し、文系合同図書室が発足The Humanities and Social Sciences Library opened

■ 館報「きゅうとNEWSLETTER」を創刊Kyushu University Library Bulletin "Cute Newsletter" was first issued

2010 [H.22]■ 国文学研究資料館と学術交流協定を締結An Academic Exchange Agreement was concluded with the National Institute of Japanese Literature

2011 [H.23]■ 教材開発センターを付設The Innovation Center for Educational Resource, which is attached to the library, was established

■ 九州大学オープンアクセス方針策定"Kyushu University Open Access Policy" was adopted

■ 伊都図書館グランドオープン（全面開館）The fully refurbished Ito Library was re-opened

■ 中央図書館竣工The new Central Library completed the second phase of its construction

■ 文系合同図書室閉室The Humanities and Social Sciences Library was closed

■ 中央図書館第 1期運用開始The new Central Library completed the first phase of construc-tion and started its regular service

2012 [H.24]■ ディスカバリ・サービスの運用開始The Discovery Service was introduced

2009 [H.21]■ 六本松地区移転に伴い、六本松分館閉館Ropponmatsu Library was closed due to the relocation of the campus to the new Ito campus

■ 各分館の「分館」を「図書館」に名称変更、理系図書館を伊都図書館に改称The Science and Technology Library was renamed the Ito Library

■ 伊都図書館Ⅱ期リニューアルオープンThe second-phase expansion of the Ito Library was completed

■ 理系図書館開館The Science and Technology Library opened with the inauguration of Ito Campus as the fifth branch library

■ 「ラテン語古刊本書誌作成研修会」が国立大学図書館協会賞受賞The program of "The Seminar of Early Printed Latin Books" won the Award of the Japan Association of National University Libraries

1981 [S.56]■ ネットワーク型図書館業務システム導入 (国立大初 )、北部九州地区国立大学図書館機械化ネットワークの地域センターとしての業務を開始The library online computer system was launched for the first time for national universities in Japan. Started as the regional center of Northern Kyushu District Joining National Universities' Library System

1978 [S.53]■ 支子文庫所収の『大和物語』が国重要文化財に指定される"The Tale of Yamato" in Kuchinashi Collection was designated a national important cultural property

■ 筑紫分館が新築された総合研究棟内に開館自動書庫を導入(国立大学初）Chikushi Library reopened in a new building. Automated storage and retrieval system was introduced (for the first time in domestic universities)
