1. Applicants must always follow instructions from the ‘Notice

Board (학사공지)’ on the CBNU website.A. Various testing information and accepted candidate notices are posted on the website; they will not be notified individually. B. Applicants must print out the tuition fee payment receipts on-line and follow the Application Instructions.

2. Following applicants may be Denied or Disqualified for Admission.

A. Applicants who submitted their ‘Prospective Graduate Certificate’ but, fail to submit their proof of graduation (diploma and official transcripts) before the enrollment date. B. Applicants who fail to pay their tuition fee before the designated deadline. C. Applicants who are accepted and enrolled by false entry, forged, or any other dishonest means.D. Applicants who fail to submit all required materials by the deadline.E. Applicants who are ineligible for application.F. Applicants who are enrolled in two or more universities on the same semester.G. Applicants who fail the visa screening process (only for visa candidates).

3. Important Information when ApplyingA. You must be well-acquainted with this Admissions Guide to minimize mistakes.B. You will be unable t0 cancel or change the application status after submission (paying the application fee), so please cautiously review all materials before making the payment. C. The application fee and submitted documents will not be returned.D. Applicants must submit a valid phone number and address during the application. You must notify the International Affairs Office if there are any changes made (Applicant will be liable for any disadvantages resulting from being out of contact).

: Foreigners whose parents are not Korean and have graduated or are expected to graduate from high school either in Korea or abroad, or that of equivalent academic achievement (i.e. those who have passed the high school qualification exam in Korea)

1) Applicants with TOPIK Grade 3 or above or students who have completed Level 4 Korean class at the Korean Language Education Center in Chonbuk National University

※ If registered to take the TOPIK exam in April, applicants must submit their TOPIK Identification or Examination Number. However, the applicants must submit their TOPIK Grade 3 certification until Jun 5 th , 2014 . Failure to do so will result in automatic disqualification

2) The applicants for the College of Arts may apply without the above mentioned language proficiency certifications if they are capable of “taking classes in Korean.”

C. Department of International Studies (▲) 1) Minimum score required for standard exams TOEFL: PBT 550, CBT 210, iBT

80, IELTS: 5.5, TEPS: 550 or Completion of secondary or higher education in countries where English is the primary language of education (Ex. U.S.A, Canada, England, Australia and Republic of South Africa).

2) From a non-native English country but completed the education from an institute where the primary language of education is English. * Must submit a proof document showing the primary language of education is English (ex. Principal’s confirmation)

5. Important Announcement for Admissions※ Excludes students applying for International Studies.

A. Applicants with TOPIK certification lower than Grade 3 or no certification at all- If admitted, applicants will only be able to register for a maximum of 12 course credits per semester until TOPIK certification Grade 3 or higher is attained.

B. Applicants with TOPIK certification of Grade 4 or higher- If admitted, applicants will be able to register for the maximum of credits allowed per semester

C. Graduation Postponement Policy- Admitted students who fail to attain TOPIK certification of Grade 4 or higher before graduation will have their graduation date postponed indefinitely.

c. Fee: 50,000 KRW ($50 USD). Transfer the fee to the listed bank account

under your English name and submit the receipt along with the printed

application.

※All the required documents must be submitted before the deadline to avoid

automatic disqualification.

B. Visit: Visiting applicants must bring and submit all the required documents (listed in #7 below) separately.

12. Reminders1) Admitted students who are expected to graduate from Secondary School (High

School) must submit their graduation certificate (or expected certificate of graduation) before the beginning of the semester, otherwise admission will be cancelled.

2) If any of the application documents contain false information or forgery, admission will be cancelled immediately.

3) If it is found that an applicant is admitted by illegal means or the applicant's graduation is unapproved by CBNU, admission will be cancelled, even if the applicant is already attending the university. Tuition fee is non-refundable.

4) CBNU is not responsible for admission cancellation due to the mistakes made on the application, missing documents, and unfulfilled entry procedures.

5) All the information including admission announcements will be posted on the homepage. Please follow the directions carefully.

6) All accepted applicants must complete all admission and registration procedures before the deadline. If the tuition fee is not paid on the deadline, admission will be cancelled.

7) Regulations of Chonbuk National University are applied to the items that are not defined on this prospectus and other particulars are decided by the Committee of Admission Screening for International Students.

8) Admitted students must submit their International Student Insurance Policy by 1/4 of the semester period (Sep.29, 2014). Failure to submit the Proof of International Student Insurance Policy will prevent scholarship candidates from receiving scholarships the following semester

2) Scholarship for International Studies majors- Scholarship for the first semester

All admitted students will receive 1st Level Scholarship- Scholarship starting from second semester

2nd Level Scholarship(University Fee waived): Students whose previous semester’s grade point average is between 3.63 and 4.06

3rd Level Scholarship(50% of University Fee waived): Students whose previous semester’s grade point average is between 3.19 and 3.63

※ Notice for Prospective Students

▷ Once submitted, applications cannot be cancelled and prospective students cannot change

majors. Applications fees are non-refundable after submission of application. Prospective

students may not apply for multiple programs within CBNU so please take careful

consideration when choosing major and department.

▷ Prospective students must bring a form of photo identification (i.e. Passport, Alien

Registration Card) to the test site. Students who fail to bring photo ID will not be able to take

the tests.

▷ Mobile phones or any form of wireless communication is not allowed inside the

examination rooms. Please note that trying to bring in a wireless communication device into

the examination rooms will be a direct violation of the Student Code of Conduct, and thus

will result in automatic disqualification.

▷ Any disadvantage caused by an input error in the application form is the sole

responsibility of the applicant. If the applicant provides falsified information or attains

credentials through dishonest means, CBNU has the right to cancel admission.

▷ Interviews will be conducted on Jun. 3th (Tue), 2014, are mandatory and will be organized

according to the major and department of prospective students. Applicants who fail to

participate will be disqualified. More information on the interview process will be announced

on May. 30th (Fri), 2014, on the Notice Board(학사공지) from the CBNU website.

▷ With the exception of applicants who have been requested to provide supplementary

information, if the applicant’s admission documents do not arrive before the stated deadline

or if the application is incomplete, the prospective student will not gain admission and the

application fee will not be refunded.

▷ Prospective students must be in contact(phone number listed on application) even during

examination periods and any disadvantage caused by not being able to reach the applicant is

the responsibility of the applicant.

▷ Grades for admission exams will not be disclosed.
