The International Conference on Environmental Disaster Management & Prediction (ICEDMP-2014) will be held at Gangneung Campus of Gangneung-Wonju National University, Gangwondo, Republic of Korea from August 18 ~ 20, 2014. The objective of this conference is to promote mutual exchange of scientific knowledge and technology for the Management of Environmental Disaster and Its Prediction focused on Air Pollution & Atmospheric Environment, Water Pollution and Water Disaster, Ocean Environment & Ocean Engineering, Geo sciences, Mining Engineering and Geoinformation Technology & Satellite, but not limited to the above fields. lCEDMP-2014 The ICEDMP-2014 conference will be held at Gangneung Campus of Gangneung-Wonju National University, Gangwondo, Republic of Korea from August 18 ~ 20, 2014. Gangneung-Wonju National University is a comprehensive educational system of which consists 9 Colleges and has seperately each campus at two different cities - Gangneung (old name - Kangnung) and Wonju near Seoul. The objective of this conference is to promote mutual exchange of scientific knowledge and technology for the Management of Environmental Disaster and Its Prediction focussed on Air Pollution & Atmospheric Environment, Water Pollution and Water Disaster, Ocean Environment & Ocean Engineering and Geoinformation Technology & Satellite, but not limited to the above fields. For the future collaborative researches for the theoretical and applicable improvements on various environmental issues among Asian countries as well as European and North and South American countries, it is necessary to compose the above research area for effective oral and poster presentations at this conference. Gangneung city is located about 230km away from Seoul to the east, and it has beautiful mountain and sea scenes with hot springs in the west and sea shores in the east. Gangneung city is the biggest city in the east coastal region of Korea and characterized by well organized infra-structure and education system. Express Highway and Train railway are connected with Seoul and Inchon International Airport in the west and Busan in the south. Furthermore, Yang Yang International Airport (50km away from Gangneung city to the north) has direct air routes to 8 cities of China (ex., Shanghai-Yang Yang, Hangzhou-Yang Yang, Wuhan-Yang Yang, Changsha-Yang Yang, etc.) and Taipei-Yang Yang in Taiwan. In domestic region, Yang Yang to Seou, Busan and Jeju cities. This city has been famous by not only various kinds of traditional heritage, but also up-to-date research facilities in 4 universities including Gangneung-Wonju National University (conference place) and several government research institutes such as Gangwon Regional Meteorological Administartion, Donghae Fishery Research Institute (National Fishery Research & Development Institute), Salmon Research Centre, a branch institute of Korea Institute of Science & Technology (KIST) and others. In general, many a tourist visit Gangneung city and its vicinity with beautiful mountains and seashore for sking, hot spring, mountain climbing, fishing, surfing, buying fresh fishes and eating shashimi in the harbors. Visiters may be able to enjoy various and delicious dishes of not only roast beaf and chicken with ginseng root, but also Kingcrap and shashimi at a cheap price at various restaurants.

Gangneung-Wonju National University consistes of two campuses at Gangneung city (old name, Kangnung) in the eastern coast and Wonju city near Seoul. This university has 9 colleges ( Social Sciences, Natural Sciences, Life Sciences, Engineering, Arts & Physical Education, Dentistry, Culture, Scientific Technique) and 4 Graduate Schools (Graduate School, Graduate School of Management & Policy Science, Graduate School of Education, Graduate School of Industrial Technology) with about 12,000 students. This university has various international exchange programs for student and professors in more than 60 universities in the world. According to QS World University Rankings, this university was ranked as the 22nd among universities without medical college in Asia and 6th in Korea in 2010. She is ranked as the 36th (the 9th on research paper quotation index) in Asia and the 6th (the 2nd on research paper quotation index) in Korea in 2014. Many professors received Ph.D degrees from universities of USA, Germany and others in a high rank.

(1) Abstract Submission and Acceptance

Prospective presenters are invited to electronically submit an abstract in 200-300 words not later than July 10, 2014. The abstract can be sent as an e-mail attachment (Word format). The abstract must include paper title, author names and full mailing address, as well as email address of the corresponding author. Submitted abstracts will be reviewed by Scientific Committee. The author will be notified on the acceptance of the abstract after the completion of review process.

(2) Extended Abstract for Proceeding The authors of accepted abstracts are required to submit their extended abstract for proceeding publication not later than July 30, 2014. The page number of each extended abstract is not limited and can be equal to 4 pages with even number or should not exceed 10 pages. Authors are required to prepare their papers based on the guidelines for publication in the proceeding, which should follow the given format on sample extended abstract. (3) Full-length Paper for Special Issues of Journals The special issues aims at gathering research works on environmental disaster management and prediction. All accepted papers for conference will be presented at conference. Selected papers of conference will be sent for evaluation to three experts of the journal and be peer reviewed after the conference. If Guest Editors of journal approve your manuscripts, then they will be published in Special Issues of International Journals. Candidate journals for special Issues indexed by SCI, SCOPUS, COPERICUS and others will be as below:

As manuscript formats of journals are very different each other. Sample manuscript of each journal for reviewing process will be given at the conference. The deadline of a full paper is September 30, 2014. Publication of selected papers will be done before the end of December, 2014.

(4) Conference Program

a) Presentation ICEDMP-2014 conference held on August 20~22, 2014 at Convention Center (Gangneung Campus), Gangneung-Wonju National University, Gangneung city, Korea will include oral and poster presentations. Presentation language is English and each speaker for oral presentation will be allocated with 15 minutes ~ 20 minutes for presentation and 5 minutes for discussion. Beam project will be equipped for power point presentation. Poster presentations will be posted for lunch time of the first day and exposed through the conference.

b) Collaboration Meeting

Brief discussion on the current and future collaborative research plan and projects will be held at the end of the conference for about one ~ two hours. c) Presentation Program Up-to-date conference program will be informed frequently and final detail presentation schedule will be reported around August 10.

Meal & Entertainment: During the conference, coffee, tea, juice, water, light snacks with bread at break time, as well as lunch box will be freely provided for participants. Furthermore, without any payment, banquet will be arranged in the evening of the first and second days and a half day- tour on the third day.

Weather: Conference period is in the ending time of summer and weather is still hot around 30~320C for daytime and 20~250C at night. Frequency of rain is low, but during a typhoon passage, it is high.

PUBLICATION

(1) Proceeding: The authors of accepted abstracts are required to submit their extended abstract for proceeding publication not later than July 30, 2014. The page number of each extended abstract is not limited and can be equal to 4 pages with even number or should not exceed 10 pages. Authors are required to prepare their papers based on the guidelines for publication in the proceeding, which should follow the given format on sample extended abstract. The format requirement is very simple and the guidelines are easy to follow a given sample extended abstract for proceeding. Proceeding publication fee is free. The proceeding containing your paper will be available at the registration desk of the conference on August 18 ~ 20, 2014.

(2) Special Issue of Journal:

Selected papers will be further peer reviewed by Guest Editors, after the conference for possible publication in 7-international journals. Candidate journals indexed by SCI, SCOPUS, COPERICUS and others will be as below:

Using Sauna facility is free.. - One Double bed (for 2 persons), (No single bed and No Twin bed) - Local bus passes by front gate of the university. Every 15 minutes, you can get on the bus to the downtown or Highway Bus Terminal. - It takes 10 minutes to the downtown. Bus fare is about W1,200 for 1 person, but TAXi fare with 4 persons is about W4,000. - Many kinds of restaurents including 24 hours-Hamburg shop, supermarket are located near the Hotel. (5) Hotel Emerald (3 star hotel) TEL: +82-33-644-4810 ~2 -- Next door of Kyungpo Beach Hotel - Center of Kyungpo Beach (about 3 km away from the university) - W70,000 (weekday) and W90,000 (weekend) for one night without breakfast, You can have breakfast at rastaurent of Kyungpo Beach Hotel. -> Week day --W80,000, but on Friday and Saturday, the price quickly goes up to W90,000 ~W100,,000 (be careful) - Twin bed (for 2 persons) or One Double bed (for 2 persons) - No bus route to Gangneung-Wonju national Universiy, but bus route to downtwon of the city exists. (Taxi fare is about W3,000 to the university) - There are many hotels, restaurents, coffee shop including 24 hours-small mart in Kyungpo Beach. (6) University dormitary - Facility is quite good, but it is not guaranted, now.. Gangneung city is a famous resort city. Our university at Gangneung campus (conference place) has three good dormitories supplied at cheaper price for night and breakfast, but the leftovers of room will be reported to the participants near the early of August. Thus, we recommend all of participants to stay at hotels suggested by the organizing committee. If foreign participants want any assistance on the hotel, please let me know.

0 Seoul -> Gangneung city (Old name - Kangnung) (1) Inchon/Seoul International Airport (passing by Kimpo Airport) ->Gangneung Bus Terminal o 07:30 AM ~ 21:30 PM, Bus leaves for Gangneung city at every one hour or one & a half hour. It takes about 4 hours (normally 3 and a half hours). (Not passing Seoul downtown) o Bus fare: one way - W 30,000 (US$29) (Inchon international airport <--> Gangneung city, W 24,000 (US$23) (Kimpo international airport <--> Gangneung city) o Bus Stop:

a) From Inchon/Seoul International Airport 1) go just across the road from Exit Gate #10~12 of Inchon/Seoul International Airport Building, after you finish immigration process. 2) Find NO. C 9 at Outskirt Bus Terminal (Shi Yue Bus-시외버스) and buy a ticket for Gangneung at a small ticket office and then, get on Bus. (See bus time schedule) 3) This bus passes by Kimpo International Airport 4) During the bus trip on the highway, you will take a 15 min rest at Rest Place for highway bus. There, shops, restaurents and toilet exist. Remember your bus number. 5) After a rest, please get on the same bus for Gangneung city, and then one hour later, you will arrive at Gangneung Bus Terminal. or (If you feel difficulty) After you arrive at Inchon/Seoul International airport and finish immigration process, please go to "Information Desk" inside Airport Building and ask how to buy a bus ticket and to get on bus for Gangneung city.
