An SUV that doesnt handle like an SUV. The combination o seven-passenger seating and crisp handling

is precisely where the MDX shines. The new Agile Handling Assist system uses active braking o individual

wheels to help you track through curves with less eort rom the driver. The available Super Handling

All-Wheel Drive(SH-AWD) continuously monitors driving dynamics and distributes the optimal level

reason. Constructed with extensive use o high-strength steel throughout, the chassis eatures Acuras

next-generation Advanced Compatibility Engineering(ACE) body structure, which goes beyond

crumple zones to help distribute rontal crash energy more evenly in the event o a collision. Inside,

the MDX is equipped with a drivers knee airbag as well as ront, side, and side curtain airbags.

the new MDX has numerous eatures that work in concert to help keep

roads. SH-AWD partne rs with Ve hicle Stability Assist(VSA) to limit

wheel spin and send power to those wheels with the most traction.

VSA also works with Motion Adaptive Steering to avoid under- or

oversteer and will prompt you towards steering the correct line and

staying on course. When the available Collision Mitigation Braking

impressive amount o rough treatment beore ever reaching a dealership.

In addition to the fne-tuning perormed on the Nrburgring in Germany,

we also put it through its paces in conditions specically designed to nd

its limits in other ways. These include a split-surace traction test on a

30-degree grade; a test designed to severely evaluate the abilities o

an all-wheel-drive system. The MDX with SH-AWD passed with aplomb,

while a number o our competitors were simply let at the bottom.

As much time as Acura engineers spent perecting the perormance

and comort o the MDX, they spent equal time ine-tuning it.

The engine is tuned or optimum perormance, as are the handling

and the suspension. But we brought in GRAMMY Award-winning

recording engineer Elliot Scheiner to tune the way the MDX audio

sounds. The two available systems he created are an audiophiles

dream, capable o delivering the kind o perormance youd sooner

expect in a concert hall than out on the road. Add in standard

XM Radio3 and Pandora4compatibility, and you may never listen

to your home audio system again.

When youre driving, you can generally hear the dierence between

one road surace and anoth er. But in the MDX, youll have to listen

very careully, because Acura has reduced noise levels in the cabin

to a new low. Special electronics are deployed to cancel unwanted

engine noise, the chassis has been constructed to dramatically seal

out road sounds, underbody panels are outtted with a noise-reducing

liner, and even the windshield and ront window glass on some

models are designed to reduce outside noise rom getting in. All the

better to immerse yoursel in the glorious sounds emanating rom

the exclusive MDX ELS audio system.

As much as we resculpted the lines o the new MDX, we also paid close attention to its stance.

The wheels have been pushed closer to the corners or better control and a roomier interior.

The vehicles wide shoulders contribute to more space inside. The chassis has been lowered

or better aerodynamics. In addition to all these rational reasons or the changes, theres also

the intangible beneit o just looking more aggressive.
