Tour the Twilight Saga’s 2014 Stephenie Meyer Day Combined Schedule of Events--Final Edition!

Twilighters planning a September trip to Forks’ annual Stephenie Meyer Day celebrations are often 

confused when they discover the fact that there are TWO groups organizing SMD events. I’d love to 

offer an explanation for this, and why they don’t coordinate with each other, but it really isn’t clear. 

To provide a better idea of what’s going on—and when—I decided to create a 2014 Stephenie 

Meyer Day Schedule of Events that shows both groups’ events, in order of occurrence. 

 

As of August 28th, 2014, this Combined SMD Event Schedule PDF is the FINAL (locked & loaded) 

schedule of events for both groups.

Thursday, September 11th, 2014  5:00 pm – 7 pm Forks Chamber of Commerce Visitor Information Center Open House (TTTS Book One Site #4) 

This event is offered by the Chamber of 

Commerce Visitor Information Center, but the 

Olympic Coven has volunteered to appear. 

Donations are gladly accepted and will benefit 

the Forks Police Foundation, the Forks Visitor 

Information Center, and the Forks Timber Museum.

All guests will get to enjoy music, "fangtastic" cookies and Bella’s Bloody Punch—on top of participating in fun drawings and giveaways! And don't forget to sign the world-famous VIC guestbook and put a pin on their map. Friday, September 12th, 2014  8:00 am – Onward Geo Caching Scavenger Hunt Geo caching is an outdoor treasure hunting game using GPS-enabled devices. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geocaching

You must register yourself or your team (up to 4 people) upon arriving at SMD headquarters. At 8am every morning, a new set of GPS coordinates will be announced via the SMD Instagram account: http://instagram.com/stepheniemeyerday = You’ll need an Instagram account.

Your mission is to find the geo cache container found at each day’s location. The clue within the container will help you solve that day’s puzzle, leading you one step closer to finding Bella—the ultimate goal.

The last set of geo cache location coordinates will be provided at 8am on Sunday morning. This container’s clue will only be available to the first team to arrive, and will provide a final set of GPS coordinates that will lead you to Bella and an exclusive Olympic Coven experience!

8:30 am – 9:30 am Breakfast with the Olympic Coven at JT’s Sweet Stuffs (TTTS Book One Site #13) $10 (Please pay JT’s Sweet Stuffs when you arrive) 9:30 am Shopping in Forks with Alice Cullen

Meet at JT’s Sweet Stuffs. We’ll begin there and work our way into every shop in town, with Alice and the Cullen family (the Olympic Coven) offering a guided tour.

5:00 pm – Sunset Bonfire at La Push: First Beach (TTTS Book One Site #21) Take in the beauty of First Beach & enjoy s’mores at sunset with the Olympic Coven. We’ll provide s’mores ingredients, but feel free to bring drinks, hot dogs, or anything else you’d like to roast over the fire.

Friday, September 12th, 2014, Continued  8:30 pm – 11:30 pm Major Jasper Whitlock’s Tribute to Sarge’s Place Venue: The Roundhouse in Forks (TTTS Book One Site #18) $35 per person

As we all know, Major Jasper Whitlock proudly served in the military, and this night we will be celebrating all those who served after him by hosting an event to benefit the ‘Warrior’s Pantry’ of Forks’ Sarge’s Place—a resource that helps homeless veterans find a place to live and make their way in our world, which may feel very different from what it was before they left in service of our country.

Thanks to Charlie Swan’s fishing community contacts, another local non-profit, The Pacific Coast Salmon Coalition, has graciously volunteered to host the 2014 event. In the spirit of Charlie and his best fishing buddy Harry Clearwater (RIP), the Pacific Coast Salmon Coalition will be providing a Forks-styled BBQ dinner of hamburgers, hot dogs, sides, and homemade drinks, as well as dancing and music from Forks’ own DJ Wayne—you may remember him from our prom last year!

Along with his Olympic Coven family, Jasper will be there in uniform to show his support for his fellow veterans and welcome guests to the event. In a show of solidarity, his brother Emmett will be there arm wrestling for donations!

If you bring non-perishable food items for Sarge’s Place’s Warrior’s Pantry, you will be entered to win fantastic prizes courtesy of the SMD team! 100% of cash and food donations taken onsite will benefit Charlie and Jasper’s charities of choice: the Pacific Coast Salmon Coalition and Sarge’s Place.

Saturday, September 13, 2014  

8:00 am – Onward Geo Caching Scavenger Hunt: Local points of interest

 8:30 am – 9:30 am Breakfast with the Olympic Coven: JT’s Sweet Stuffs $10 (Please pay JT’s Sweet Stuffs when you arrive)  10am – 4pm Dr and Mrs. Cullen’s Blood Drive Forks Hospital Parking Lot (TTTS Book One Site #15) If you’ve ever wanted to be tended to by Dr. Cullen, now’s your chance. The Puget Sound Blood Bank will be in Forks to accept blood from donors over the age of 18. Dr & Mrs. Cullen will be on hand to greet donors and offer photo opportunities. Even better: Esme will stay with you and offer you cookies until you’re back on your feet.

The Puget Sound Blood Bank needs a minimum of 30 donors in order to operate and can only accept a maximum of 45 donors, so participation will be limited. The entire process will take approximately 45 minutes between registration, drawing blood, and refreshments afterward.  12:00 pm – 1:00 pm Baseball game, Free for all! Wear your best Twilight baseball outfit and have your photo snapped with Leppell’s Forks Coven Cosplay Group.

 

 1:00 pm Costume Contest with the Olympic Coven Venue: Forks High School Theater (The Commons) Show off your best Twilight look, inspired by characters in any of the films or books, for the chance to win some amazing prizes! The event will be judged by Alice, Bella, Esme, Nessie and Rosalie

PLEASE NOTE: The student government at Forks High School, the Associated Student Body, will be on hand from 12pm–2pm to conduct tours of the school and sell authentic Spartans gear.

2:30 pm Bella’s Birthday Party Forks Outfitters/Thriftway (TTTS Book One Site #5) Paging Bella Swan to the Sports Department! Bella may not work at the Thrifty Mart anymore, but the birthday girl will be in attendance to cut the cake, so be sure to wish her a happy birthday!

7:00 pm – Midnight Bella and Edward’s Anniversary Party Venue: The Real Cullen House – Westlands Homestead (TTTS Book One Site #23) $150 per person.

The evening will begin with light appetizers while mingling with guests and the Olympic Coven (special vignettes set up for photo opportunities). Dinner will be served, onsite, by Port Angeles’s Bella Italia restaurant. After dinner, everyone will be encouraged to dance the night away, courtesy of our amazing DJ.

11:00 am Renesmee’s Birthday Party Meet & Greet Venue: Miller Tree Inn (TTTS Book One Site #10) Everyone loves a party – especially when it’s a birthday party for Renesmee, hosted by her loving grandparents, Carlisle and Esme! The Olympic Coven will be on hand to make you feel right at home at the Cullen House before leaving our beautiful town. We’ll be serving light appetizers and desserts to celebrate.

12:30 pm – 1:30 pm Getting to Know You: A Q&A Panel With the Olympic Coven Venue: Forks High School (TTTS Book One Site #7) You’ve spoken to and interacted with them in character all weekend, but now is your opportunity to meet the personalities behind each character in the Olympic Coven! Join us for a panel with the cast, where you can learn how they became involved with Stephenie Meyer Day, what their lives are like outside of the event, how to create screen accurate costumes, and more! What better way to say goodbye to an unforgettable weekend than to make even more new friends?

Each member of the Olympic Coven will be selling prints after the panel and will be available to personalize autographs. As well, the student government at Forks High School, the Associated Student Body, will be on hand to sell authentic Spartans gear, so be sure to support them!
