through this experience I was given the unique opportunity to visit 8 different countries in 2 months. the people I met and the voyage itself has since given me creative inspiration, more empathy and compassion for others, and a fresh look at the world.

re-thinking of a neighborhood community south of a busy commercial corridor in holland charter township,

michigan. the proJect hints at subtle efforts to improve the overall community as a whole, by focusing on the details.

Chicago Drive Corridor Streetscape Re-DesignA five-lane commercial corridor re-designed with a one-way residential throughway to lessen traffic congestion between Chicago Drive and the pocket residential community. Buffered by vegetative, segmented medians, push-to-signal crosswalks, benches, and street lamps to encourage pedestrian circulation on sidewalks, the proposed design offers commercial and neighborhood traffic to peacefully and simultaneously coexist,

Chicago South Neighborhood Streetscape Enhancements Curb and gutters proposed, vegetated bioswales parallel each neighborhood street, sidewalks and bike lanes incorporated into “shared” streets, crosswalks and street lamps to provide safety. Existing R.O.W. allows for space on either side of side streets to construct proposed enhancements.
