Pillars of Recreation & Parks

Conservation - Our parks are critical in the role of preserving natural resources that have real economic benefits for our community. We are the leaders, often the only voice in our community, for protect open space, connecting children to nature, and providing education and pro-gramming that helps communities engage in conservation practices.

Health & Wellness - We lead the nation in improving the overall health and wellness of communities. We are essential partners in combating some of the most complicated and expensive challenges our country faces-poor nutrition, hunger, obesity, and physical inactivity.

Social Equity - Access to our public parks and recreation are a RIGHT, not just a privilege. Every day we are working hard to ensure that all members of our community have access to the resources and program-ming we offer. Very few-if any-can claim the same.

Our days begin with a special guest — a community leader who engages campers in questions to ponder, projects to work on, adventures to take. Campers are invited to stretch their minds and muscles with activities that range from orienteering and natural shelter building to art projects and service learning. Campers are guided in their adventures, while being supported in challenging themselves, discovering new talents, building friendships, and enjoying fun-filled days. Camp was such a success last summer that we’ve extended it for a third week this summer. We are happy to build this inclusive community of curious and creative youth. Every day is a new adventure—we look forward to seeing you there! To inquire about scholarships for camp, please contact Camp Director Lizzie Bogosian for more details.
