The FIAT® 1.4L MultiAir® Turbo four-cylinder with twin intercoolers delivers up to 164 hp and 184 lb-ft of torque, and can be teamed with either the standard 6-speed manual or available 6-speed automatic transmission. FIAT approaches safety and security from every angle. Here are just some of the advanced features that will offer extra peace of mind:

Full-Speed Forward Collision Warning with Active Braking2 uses radar sensors to detect when you may be approaching another vehicle too rapidly. This active safety feature sends an audible and visual alert to the driver and provides limited braking if the driver does not react in time. Available on 500X.

Lane Departure Warning with Lane Keep Assist2 tracks the vehicle’s lane position via mounted cameras. If the system detects the driver is drifting outside the lane boundaries, the system can provide a visual warning, as well as a corrective steering input to encourage the driver to keep within lane boundaries. Available on 500X.

The ParkView® Rear Back-Up Camera2 provides a wide-angle view of the area immediately behind the vehicle, giving the driver greater peace of mind before moving backwards at low speeds. It displays dynamic grid lines on a colour touchscreen to aid the driver when the vehicle is in Reverse. Standard on 500X and 500L, available on 124 Spider.

Park-Sense® Rear Park Assist System2 can help you park and back out with grace. When the vehicle is in Reverse, these available sensors detect objects in the rear back-up pathway and also provide an audible and visual warning so you have time to react. Available on 500X, 500L and 124 Spider.

Seven Standard Air Bags8 are in every FIAT 500 model, surrounding you with a comprehensive air bag

system. It features full-length front and rear side-curtain, driver’s inflatable knee blocker, seat-mounted side for front occupants, and advanced multistage driver and front-passenger air bags, all working together to help provide encompassing protection. Standard on 500L and 500X.

Cornering Fog Lamps are initiated on the appropriate side of the car with a turn signal or steering-wheel turn — it’s how to shed a little more light on some very important subjects. Available on 500X.

Electronic Stability Control (ESC)9 is designed to assist drivers in maintaining control of their vehicles during extreme steering manoeuvres. ESC9 senses when a vehicle is starting to spin (oversteer) or plow (understeer) and attempts to correct the vehicle’s course by automatically controlling the throttle and applying the brakes to individual wheels. Standard on 500X, 500L and 124 Spider.

An Electronic Park Brake puts a parking brake switch in the centre console and offers five modes of operation: static apply and release, dynamic apply, drive away release, auto apply and safe hold. Available on 500X.

Blind-Spot Monitoring with Rear Cross-Path Detection2 will constantly monitor the space between you and other vehicles. When a side or rear blind spot is encroached, this feature notifies you via illuminated icons on sideview mirrors and an audible chime. Available on 500X and 124 Spider.
