Introduction: Dispersion of colloidal soil is closely related to various environmentalproblems. Increase of soil dispersion can decrease the soil permeability and it sometimesinduces erosion. In this study, the influence of P sorption on soil dispersion was investigatedexperimentally and evaluated by calculating repulsive potential energy based on zetapotential. Stability ratio was used to evaluate stability of colloid suspension.

Conclusion: We successfullyevaluated the influence ofphosphate sorption on theFerralsol dispersion bycalculating repulsive potentialenergy based on zeta potential.Because soil dispersionsometimes inducesenvironmental problem, it isbetter to avoid the dispersivecondition when applyingphosphate fertilizers even if thesoil is initially flocculative.
