成立背景

國際同濟會為全球性的志工社團，秉持一步一腳印的精神，致力服務兒童與社區，

改造世界。1963年，中華民國總會成立；1977年已擁有15個分會，經由國際同濟會

升格為區總會，於是中華民國國際同濟會在國際同濟會世界總會的肯定地位得以確

定。

宗旨

• 於轄區內透過各會致力達成國際同濟會章程訂定之信條。

• 增進轄區內各會間之聯誼與合作。

• 配合世界總會於轄區內建立新會、教育會員及強化各會之服務活動。

BackgroundKiwanis International is a global volunteer organization that is devoted to beau-

tifying the world through serving the world’s children and communities. The Taiwan District of Kiwanis International was officially founded in 1963. It expanded its out-reach through the establishment of 15 regional branches by 1977, and is now recog-nized as the regional headquarters by Kiwanis International.

Purpose• To abide by the rules and objectives established by Kiwanis International. • To foster closer ties and cooperation among regional branches. • To expand the organization’s outreach through the establishment of new region-

al branches and the training of new members. • To partake in the events and missions organized by Kiwanis International.

OrganizationElected by the general assembly, the board of directors and the board of supervi-

sors are responsible for promoting members from their ranks to the executive board. The chairman is elected by the executive directors and is assisted by a secretary-general and a chief financial officer in supervising the organization’s daily affairs.

BackgroundIn response to the situation of collapsed temples and the expulsion of monks in

the beginning of the Republic, the elders of Buddhist monastery around the country hence founded the association in Shanghai in 1911. In 1949, the association was re-established in Taiwan. Afterward, regional branch associations were established one after another all over Taiwan.

Purpose• To unite the Buddhists around the

country.• To organize religious rules.• To maintain the religious properties.• To preach Buddhism doctrine.• To do charity work for public welfare.• To promote education and culture.

OrganizationLocal Buddhist associations elect their

representative to the general assembly holding the highest authority of the asso-ciation. The board of directors and super-visors are elected by the general assem-bly. The president and vice president recommended by executive directors deal with affairs of the association.

一貫道於1945年底自中國大陸傳入，當初僅有數百位前輩來臺傳道，歷經數十年

艱難，成長至今有數以百萬計的道親，直至1988年正式成立中華民國一貫道總會，

目前一貫道已傳到世界80個國家，在美國、日本、英國、奧地利、巴西、南非、澳大

利亞、紐西蘭、巴拉圭、柬埔寨、泰國、印尼、馬來西亞及我國共有14個國家成立總

會，而世界一貫道總會亦於1996年在美國成立。

以團結一貫道道親，闡揚一貫道道義，弘揚中華文化，促進社會和諧暨世界大同為

BackgroundI-Kuan Tao was propagated from China into Taiwan by the end of 1945. At the

beginning, only more than two hundreds forerunner seniors came to Taiwan for Tao propagation. In 1988, the I-Kuan Tao Headquarters Taiwan, Republic of China was founded. Until now, I-Kuan Tao has been propagated to 80 countries worldwide. The World I-Kuan Tao Headquarters was founded in the United States in 1996.

PurposeThe association aims to unite all the Tao cultivators as one family, expound the

I-Kuan Tao teachings, preach the Chinese cultures, and promote a harmonious society and a peaceful world.

OrganizationThe chairman of association is elected by the executive board of directors, and

secretary-general deals with association’s affairs.

International Participation• The association participated in international religious organizations and activi-

ties, such as Elijah Board of World Religious Leaders, Council for a Parliament of the World’s Religions, World Conference On Religion and Peace, etc.

• I-Kuan Tao also joined the international urgent rescue projects, such as the American 911 event in 2001, the tsunami in South Asia in 2006, the earthquake and tsunami calamities in Japan on March 11th, 2011, etc.

中國回教協會於1938年在漢口市成立，由當時回教領袖白崇禧將軍號召全國回民

抗日救國而發起，是中國地區回教最高領導機構，1949年後回教界領袖陸續遷臺，

1958年在臺灣復會，該協會對外代表全體穆斯林辦理國際事務、推動國民外交；對內

推行教務、教育、培訓青年人才、宣揚教義及聯繫維護教胞宗教生活。

宗旨

以團結回民，發揚教義，促進教育，改善回民生活為宗旨。

BackgroundThe association was established

by General Omar Pai in Han Kou City, Mainland China, in 1938 call-ing for saving the country from the Japanese aggression. At that time, the association was the highest Muslim authority in China. In 1949 Muslim leaders moved to Taiwan with the government and resumed the association function and status in Taipei in 1958. Since then it has represented the Taiwan Muslim community domestically and inter-nationally.

PurposeThe association aims to bring Muslim in union, advocate Islamic doctrine, facilitate

education, and improve the lives of Muslim people.

Organization All registered Muslim citizens are members of the association. The general assem-

bly holds the highest authority followed by the board of directors and board of supervi-sors. The president is assisted by the secretary general of the secretariat.

League(MWL).• The association is a founding member of Regional Islamic Dawah Council of

邀請時任駐美代表夫人錢田玲玲女士同步成立台北市迎新會。

宗旨

協助蒞臨中華民國台北的外籍婦女，認識我國文化、歷史、風土民情，俾儘快融入

BackgroundMarian Adair, wife of an American congressman and the founder of Welcome to

Washington International Club, founded Welcome Clubs International in 1986. Seeking to expand the scope of Welcome Clubs International, Adair invited Julie Chien, wife of the Republic of China’s representative to the United States at that time, to establish a branch in Taipei, which became known as Welcome to Taipei International Club.

PurposeWelcome to Taipei International Club was established to play hostess to women

who are new to the city. The club’s objectives are to help foreign guests adjust to life in Taipei by acquainting them with the local culture, history and traditions. Such exchang-es will not only broaden members’ cultural perspectives but also forge strong friend-ships based on new understandings.

OrganizationThe club is a nonprofit organization comprising 270 members from around the

world. The club’s directors, supervisors and executive board members all serve in unpaid positions.

1993年，亞洲宗教與和平協進會會長姜元龍博士（韓籍）及副秘書長Mr. Shin´

ichi Noguchi（日籍）來臺灣訪問，拜會國內各大宗教，提出籌組我國「宗教與和平協

進會」的構想，獲得國內宗教界人士的支持與鼓勵，中華民國宗教與和平協進會遂於

1994年正式成立。

基於宗教博愛之情操，藉由宗教、文化、教育及社會關懷等方式，增進各宗教間之瞭

解與合作，發揚人性的真、善、美，並促進社會的和平與進步。

BackgroundThe concept behind the Taiwan Conference on Religion and Peace was planted

by a delegation representing the Asian Conference on Religion and Peace. During a 1993 visit by then-chairman Wong-Yong Kang (of Korean descent) and assistant secretary-general Shin’ichi Noguchi (of Japanese descent) to discuss the Asian Conference on Religion and Peace doctrines with the main religious organizations in Taiwan, the Taiwanese religious community reacted with great enthusiasm to the proposal of establishing a Conference on Religion and Peace. In the following year, the Taiwan Conference on Religion and Peace was founded by the Taiwanese reli-gious community.

PurposeBased upon the spirit of religious fraternity, the conference is devoted to bring-

ing further understanding and cooperation among the different religious groups in Taiwan. Through religious, cultural, educational and humanitarian means, the confer-ence hopes to bring to light the virtues of truth, goodness and beauty that are embod-ied by the best of humanity and contribute to the peaceful progress of society.

OrganizationThe general assembly holds the highest authority which sets up a 21-seat board

of directors and a 5-member board of supervisors. The conference’s affairs are man-aged by the president, vice president, and 5 executive directors with a secretary gen-eral and several secretaries assisting on voluntary basis.

International Participation• In 1996, 2002, 2008, the conference participated in the 5th ~ 7th General

台灣基督長老教會的歷史根源，可溯至1865年英國長老教會宣教師馬雅各醫生在臺

灣南部，以及1872年加拿大長老教會宣教師馬偕博士在北部所開展的宣教工作。在宣

教師、本地傳道人與信徒的積極參與下，長老教會透過醫療、傳道、教育、社會服務

等方式，在臺灣各地立下教會的根基，並藉著中會、大會、總會的設立，走向組織化

和自主化。

宗旨

經由醫療、傳道、教育、社會服務等方式，讓更多人認識上帝國的好消息。

基本單位為「堂會」，「中會」由至少15個堂會組成，「區會」是尚未達到成立中

BackgroundThe roots of the Presbyterian Church in

Taiwan can be traced back to the year 1865, when Dr. James L. Maxwell traveled from the United Kingdom to the southern region of Taiwan. Joined by Reverend Dr. George Leslie MacKay, who began working as a Canadian missionary at Tamsui in 1872, the British missionaries in the south and the Canadian missionaries in the north jointly established the Presbyterian Church in Taiwan.

PurposeThe Presbyterian Church in Taiwan aims to spread the words of God through medi-

cal aid, church sermons, public education and philanthropic services.

OrganizationAdministratively, the Presbyterian Church in Taiwan is organized into 22 presbyter-

ies and 5 districts. Each presbytery is formed by a minimum of 15 churches, whereas each district consists of less than 15 churches. The organization is headed by a mod-erator and a general secretary.

衛理公會1881年始正式成立「世界衛理宗協會」，其教會分布於世界各地，至今在

118個國家設立衛理公會，全球會友人數超過3,500萬人，全球華人衛理公會會友總

人數超過50萬人。衛理公會自1847年進入中國，已超過160年；1953年在臺北設立

第一間教會，至2011年11月已設立38所教會與佈道所、6間幼稚園、1所衛理女中、

1所大學、2間生活重建中心，從事宣傳福音、心靈改革、社會教化、婦女與青少年工

作、社會關懷與急難救助、教育、公益慈善等事工，會友約4,500人。

以世界為牧區；宣揚福音、追求聖潔、造就門徒、發展小組，建立榮神益人的教會。

Background“World Methodist Association” was officially established in 1881. The Methodist

The first church was set up in Taipei on March 7, 1953. By the end of November 2011, The Methodist Church has established at least 38 churches, 6 kin-dergartens, 1 Methodist Girls’ High School, 1 University and 2 life renewal Centers in Taiwan.

PurposeThe association regards the world as the Pastoral to preach the Gospel, pursuit the

International Participation• The Methodist Church in the Republic of China (Taiwan) promoted The Global

Chinese Methodist Church and representatives of the other countries to share their status of regions, exchange vision, and have more missionary cooperation, resource sharing, disaster relief and foreign relations of partnerships such as the South Asia tsunami, Katrina storms, storms in Myanmar, earthquake in Haiti and 311 earthquake in Japan and has given a relief donation for the refugees in Macedonia through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

BackgroundAs Sister Louise, a missionary from Holland, founded the Chinese Hospital

Christian Fellowship in 1974, another group of local doctors with similar humanitarian objectives established the Chinese Christian Medical Mission in 1977. The two groups merged in 1983, using the English title as Chinese Christian Medical Mission and for-mally registering with the government as a nonprofit organization in 1984.

Purpose• To recruit local churches in spreading God’s words through medical aid and

assistance; • To play an active role in mitigating the nation’s social and medical issues; • To nurture new generations of medical missionaries; • To provide humanitarian aid to regions lacking in medical resources; • To assist fellow Christians working in the healthcare sector in forming fellowships

and participating in medical missions.

OrganizationThe board of directors and the executive committee are assisted by an executive

director to manage the affairs of the mission. The four branch offices are situated in Taipei, Taichung, Tainan and Kaohsiung. Services also come from a dental missionary group, the Salween River Medical Team, the Luke Fellowship Family, and a Christian praise team.

BackgroundThe council was founded in Ceylon (Sri Lanka) in 1966 by Ven. Aluthwewa Sorata

Thero and Ven. Pai Sheng with the determination to build a free, peaceful, and happy world through the propagation of the Dhamma. The 1st Conference of the council assembled official delegates from Ceylon, Vietnam, Malaysia, Republic of China, Nepal, Cambodia, Korea, Pakistan, India, Singapore, Thailand, England and Hong Kong. BackgroundThe MOFA Toastmasters Club was established at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’

(MOFA) Taipei headquarters in 2002 by founder Alex K. S. Fan and fellow speech-loving diplomats. Club members hope to improve their English-language abilities and leadership skills through the practice of delivering public speeches in English and interacting with their foreign counterparts.

Purpose The club aims to provide a supportive and constructive environment for learning,

1990年世界廣東同鄉總會在臺北成立。在此之前，已舉行過十四屆世界廣東同鄉總

會懇親大會，成員以美國廣東籍華僑、華人為主，與會人數有限，影響也較小，1990

年10月在臺北舉行第十五屆世界廣東同鄉懇親大會時，發起成立世界廣東同鄉總會，

BackgroundPrior to being founded in Taipei

in 1990, the organizers behind the World Kwong Tong Community Association had already arranged the annual reunion of Kwong Tong communities for 14 years, a Chinese-American affair that was attended mostly by Chinese and Cantonese immi-grants to the United States. The decision to hold the 15th annual reunion in Taipei City in October 1990 was mainly influenced by the organizers’ wishes to expand the reunion’s members and scope. The association was formally established during the 15th reunion, and has since opened branches in Southern California, Houston, Chicago, New York and Miami.

PurposeThe association aims to promote fellowship and unity among Kwong Tong commu-

nities and to preserve the spirit of the Kwong Tong people. The association’s efforts include promoting cultural and economic development as well as providing assistance to the local public welfare enterprises among Kwong Tong communities around the world.

OrganizationThe association is governed by a 35-seat board of directors and an 11-member

board of supervisors with 11 reserve directors and 3 reserve supervisors. Given the association’s status as an international entity, the governing boards are stipulated to be filled with two-third local members and one-third foreign members.

International Participation• From 1993 to present, the association has organized the annual reunion of the

Kwong Tong communities, an international event that is held at different loca-tions around the world.

• In 2006, the association hosted the 11th reunion of the Kwong Tong communi-ties in Taipei.

1971年9月28日，香港崇正總會慶祝成立50週年暨「崇正大廈」落成，特別邀請世

界各地47個團體的250名代表舉行慶祝活動，該次大會與會代表決議，把此次大會定

為「世界客屬第一次懇親大會」，每隔2年輪流在世界各地區的主要城市召開懇親大

會。為推動「世界客屬懇親大會」，特別成立「世界客屬總會」，由於當時香港仍屬

BackgroundHosting a ceremony that was attended by 250 representatives from 47 organi-

zations around the world, the Tsung Tsin Association of Hong Kong celebrated its 50th anniversary and the completion of its headquarters the Tsung Tsin Building on September 28, 1971. That day was later known as the first World Hakka Conference in which the delegates decided to host the conference once every two years and that the location of the venue would be rotated around the world. The World Hakka Federation was established to regulate these conferences, and its headquarters was established in Taipei. Today, the World Hakka Federation remains the largest and most influential organization in the Hakka world.

PurposeThe federation aims to con-

nect Hakka people from all over the wor ld to perpetuate the Hakka traditions of loyalty, unity, and cooperation, boost cultural exchanges and foster economic development as well as provide funding to Hakka groups.

BackgroundTaiwanese indigenous cultures, which are rich with intriguing and diverse ele-

ments, have always been a source of innovation and strength for the nation. The asso-ciation was founded on February 14, 2006, to assist the development of the island’s indigenous cultural industry.

Purpose• To provide a platform for different indigenous cultural industries and to nurture

new generations of talents through training and education. • To seize new opportunities for indigenous artists to perform overseas and to

bring indigenous artwork to mainstream outlets. • To revitalize the trade aspects of the indigenous cultural industry through the

establishment of state-run and private cultural parks and shopping districts.

2005年一整年臺灣共有500多萬位民眾發揮愛心從事公益捐款，捐款金額共計427

億元，然而，由於適用法規未臻完整及周延，相對地侷限公益團體的公平生存與發

BackgroundThere were estimated around 5 million charity donors in Taiwan by 2005 with

accumulated donation of 42.7 billion NTD(equivalent to 1.4 billion USD). However, the competent laws and regulations pertaining to charity donation were not yet well estab-lished. In order to guarantee the rights of donors and attain greater financial trans-parency and accountability, in 2005, 30 renowned organizations from diverse fields formed the Taiwan NPO Self-Regulation Alliance.

Purpose The purpose of the alliance is to achieve and advocate fundraising accountability,

financial transparency, service efficiency, and good governance.

OrganizationThe general assembly holds the highest authority with the supports of a board of

directors and supervisors. The president oversees the secretariat and committees.

Membership of International OrganizationsThe alliance is associated with International Committee on Fundraising

Organizations (ICFO).

International Participation• In 2008, the alliance participated in the annual meeting of ICFO.• In 2009, the alliance participated in the annual meeting of ICFO held in the

中國青年創業協會（簡稱青創會）為行政院青年輔導委員會於1972年輔導成立，

創會初期由一群獲得政府青年創業貸款補助，創業有成且熱心服務社會的有為青年企

BackgroundOn May 17th, 1972, a group of enthusiastic young people, who had made outstand-

ing achievements in their career through the financial support of the government, established the association under the guidance of the National Youth Commission, Executive Yuan. In 1992, the association established clubs in each county and city to meet the needs of members. In 1998, the “China Youth Career Development Association” changed its name to the “China Youth Career Development Association Headquarters”, which was changed to “Youth Career Development Association Headquarters, R.O.C.”

PurposeEntrepreneurship is the main core of the association. It provides professional

counseling projects, and a full range of business counseling services offered by its advanced entrepreneurial mentors.

為了長久支持佛教弘誓學院辦學，並推動佛教文化事業，於1997年6月創立「弘誓

文教基金會」，不但支持佛教弘誓學院之教育事業，而且支持法界出版社之文化事

BackgroundThe Hongshi Cultural and Educational Foundation was founded in June 1997 to

guide the establishment of the Buddhist Hongshi College and to spread the wisdom of Buddha’s teachings. The foundation is a stout supporter of the educational programs provided by the Buddhist Hongshi College and assists with the circulation of Buddhist publications. Beginning in 2000, the foundation has also been organizing large-scale seminars to preach the philosophies of the Venerable Yin Shun, the founder of the Humanistic Buddhism movement.

中華民國藥學生聯合會前身為「七藥聯誼會」，由臺北醫學大學、臺灣大學醫學

院、國防醫學院、中國醫藥大學、高雄醫學大學、嘉南藥理科技大學、大仁科技大學

天主教會台灣地區主教團福傳委員會青年組，為台灣天主教會之青年工作平臺及最

宗旨

台灣天主教會主教團青年組旨在推動臺灣全國天主教的青年牧靈工作，建構各地天

BackgroundAs a supreme administrative office of youth section of Catholic Christianity in

Taiwan, The Youth Section of the Commission for Evangelization, a commission of the Chinese Regional Bishop’s Conference (CRBC), was founded in 2006.

PurposeThe Youth Section of the Commission for Evangelization aims to promote the youth

ministry at the national level and build the platform of communication and coopera-tion. Moreover, the CRBC Youth Section is the window to the Pontifical Commission Youth Desk of the Vatican and the Catholic youth international organizations.

OrganizationThe CRBC has affiliations of Commission for Bible Apostolate, Commission for

Liturgy, Youth Desk and Taiwan Young Catholic Students, etc. all administered by a chief commissioner.

International Participation• World Youth Day (WYD)-CRBC attended World Youth Day held in the Philippines in

1995, France in 1997, Italy in 2000, Canada in 2003, Germany in 2005, Austria in 2008 and Spain in 2011.There were 300 to 600 people who participated in each WYD.

• Asian Youth Day (AYD)-CRBC attended 1st AYD held in Thailand in 1999, 2nd AYD in Taiwan in 2001, 3rd AYD in India in 2003, 4th AYD in Hong Kong in 2006, 5th AYD in the Philippines in 2009.

• International Youth Forum-The Taiwan Young Catholic Students (TYCS) attended the World Council in Uganda in 2007, East Asian Session in Korea in 2008, Asian Council and Chinese Session in Malaysia in 2009, and World Council in India in 2011. 國際經濟商管學生會（AIESEC為法文縮寫）於1948年第二次世界大戰後成立，一位

法國青年Erik Malson體驗到戰爭帶來的慘痛代價，因此集結6位來自歐洲各地的大學

生在瑞典斯德哥爾摩創立AIESEC，是目前全世界最大、由18至30歲的大學生及青年獨

立運作的非營利國際組織。社團法人國際經濟商管學生會台灣總會於1964年創立。

宗旨

AIESEC的願景為「世界和平與發展人類潛能」，透過國際人才實習計畫、海外成長

計畫、領導實作機會以及國際性的學習平臺交換各國青年，培養領導力、國際觀以及
