• 2012: Signed the contract with DongYang P&F
(Korea) to Design and Fabricate 3500 tons of
Steel Structures for HSGP and SSSP project
in AbudHabi – UAE

DongYang project:
• 6 Conveyors; 5 Transfer towers
• Finish the design work in December, 2012
• Plan to finish fabrication work in April, 2013
• 20 experienced Tekla users
• Using 3 main software:

- 3D Max for Architectural
- Autodesk Inventor for Mechanical work

Step 2: Structural Analysis and Design
- Build structural model base on GA drawings, add loads, load
combinations
- Standard:
ANSI/AISC 360 - 05 Specifications for Structural Steel Buildings,
ASCE/SEI 7-10 Minimum design loads for buildings and other
structures, International Building Code 2006/2009 (IBC 2006/2009, ….).
Step 3: Create Sketch drawings for structural
Step 4: Build 3D Tekla model
Step 5: Create Engineering drawings: Check dimensions, profiles
Step 6: Clash check with Mechnical model on Tekla via Reference model
Step 7: Connection design and detailing in Tekla
Step 8: Create Erection drawings and check.
Step 9: Create workshop drawing
We use 2 ways:
- Create Assembly that includes single part drawings as traditional way
in AutoCAD
* Non professional way and not easy for fabrication.
- Create both Assembly drawings and Single part drawings
• Easy for fabrication • Easy to manage
Suggestion:
Need help from HSD VIETNAM for Advanced functions in Tekla:
- Firm and project settings, - Collaborations,… To optimize Tekla’ potential
+ Check the clashing between weld and structural members ?
+ Suitable price for Tekla software Our trend: + In the next few year we will try to intergrate Tekla
software to CNC fabrication, create and manage schedule, erection simulation…
+ Use Tekla software as early as possible. + We will invest at least one Tekla license each year.
