Short Minute for Augustby Cliff Dudley
The August meet ing was ca lled toorder by our President Spencer Laird. Henoted that nominations for club officerswould be recei ved at the later in themeeting and that an election would beheld at the September meeting. He thencalled on the Vice-President to give anupdate on club incorporation.
A long discussion on incorporationfollowed. Several items were coveredsuch as becoming a part of the San DiegoComputer Society, doing our ownincorporation as nonprofit, ordisbanding. Jim Quinn started a donationkitty to cover the cost which will run$500 to $600. A total of $55 wascollected or pledged. The question ofjoining the Computer Society has severalquestions which must first be answered. The Society bye laws donot appear top ermi t us to operate as we cu rrent ly do.This item will be continued at nextmonths meeting. The treasurer was next
/"'- and gave his report and announced that he, had disks for sale which included a ca rd
for a free 11th. disk. The li bra ri anwas next and said that he has The SecretsOut for $7 .50.
I was next noted that it would helpif members would renew membership on timeso a reminder letter is not need. I alsogave the Store Rep report as Guy hadanother meeting to attend. Basicallynothing new. The sale goes on. Alsonoted that classes en various subjectsare bei ng held at the store. Current Ly ,CPIM, How to Get Started, and MicrosoftBASIC are available. The Editor andMembers at Large were called on but hadnothing to report.
The president opened nominations forclub office. He noted that the club isyours and that some of the currentofficers will not be standing forreelection and therefore, we will needsome new people to keep the club going.
The following is a list of positions andnames of the indi viduals nominated:

Treasu re r Larry BarnesEditor Dick Cobb
Secretary Gerry CrammLibra ri an Fra nk Burke

Hardware and software were coverednext. As I have mentioned before, theshort comments make it vary hard to putanything of value into this column.Equipment for next months meeting was notasked for. At this writting we will nothave any equipment at the meeting. Ifyou_ would like to bring some pleasecont act Dick Cobb or myself. Rememberits your club so give a hand.
A raffle was conducted. Thanks toJon for running it. One box of disks andseveral programs donated by the La HesaHeathkit store were the major itemsavailable as well as many others smalleritems. Two table's of items are availablea nd the winner will be able to pick fromwhat is on the des ignated table as theprize for that drawing.
This concluded the bussiness portionof our meeting.
As noted last month and at themeeting nominations for club office wereaccepted by mail until the date noted inlas t months newletter. None werere cei ved!
Since th is will be my las tShortnote, I would like to thank all whohave helped over the years. It has beena great learni ng experi ence for me and Ihope I ca n be of help in the fu tu re .
Thanks. Cliff
