    EPABX

    EPABX stands for electronic private automatic

    branch exchange. It is an electronic switching

    device whose basic function is internal &

    external communication with PSTN. Itsconfiguration tells us about its connecting

    capacity with C.O line & subscribers for e.g. .

    History

    The term PBX was first applied

    when switchboard operators ran

    company switchboards by hand.As automated electromechanical and

    then electronic switching systems

    gradually began to replace the manualsystems, the terms PABX (private

    automatic branch exchange)

    The C.O lines can be divided in two

    groups if required & different extensions

    can be allowed to access different type of

    C.O lines. The C.O lines of different group

    are accessed by 0&9 respectively.
