SUMMER PROGRAMMING UPDATE
We received an update today from the Maryland State 4-H O�ce regarding 4-H summerprogramming:
• All in-person summer 4-H programs will be suspended through July 31st.
• All in-person 4-H participation in July county fairs will be suspended.
• A decision on 4-H participation in August fairs will be made by June 15th. We must plan forthe possibility that August and September fairs may be impacted. Since the Garrett County fairis scheduled to open on August 1, we will need to wait for the next announcement before weknow if 4-H participation will be permitted.
This decision comes from the University of Maryland College of Agriculture and NaturalResources Dean, the Extension Director, and the Assistant Director and Program Leader of 4-HPrograms. They made this di�cult decision after careful review of the guidance developed bygovernment, health and school o�cials, along with key discussions with stakeholders and theUniversity of Maryland Extension (UME).
