• I have used Outlook for a long time. It has brought many benefits for me but the same time has create various errors as well. • From diverse data crisis, I have accumulated much

experience to solve these situations.• So today, I would like to talk about my solutions to a

specific Outlook error shown as below.



1. Check If Outlook is in Compatibility Mode

• If your computer system is Windows XP and the Outlook runs in Compatibility Mode, then this problem will certainly occur.• So we can start from checking this possibility.① In “Start Menu” and search “outlook.exe”.② Right click the “outlook.exe” program and

select “Properties”.③ In “Properties” dialog, switch to the

“Compatibility” tab.



④ Finally, make sure that the “Run this program in compatibility mode for” option is unmarked.

If Outlook is not in compatibility mode, or unmarking compatibility mode doesn’t make any effort, please turn to other ways.



2. Start Outlook in Safe Mode & Disable Conflicting Add-ins

•To verify whether it’s add-ins’ fault that leads to this error, we can start Outlook in safe mode to see if it can work normally or not.

① In “Start Menu”, search “outlook.exe /safe”. And double click it to launch Outlook in safe mode.

② If Outlook starts as normal, go to “File” > “Options” > “Add-ins” > “Go” button.



③ In the new window, remove all the external third party add-ins.

④ At last, start Outlook again to see if the error is solved.



3. Create a New Outlook Profile• Since incorrect Outlook profile will result in

errors as well, we can make a new one to fix the problem.

① Go to “Start Menu” > “Control Panel” > “Mail”.

② In the new window, click “Show Profiles”.



③ In the latter dialog box, click “Add” and name the new profile.

④ Then click “OK” and add your email accounts.

⑤ After that, back to “Mail” dialog, change the default opened Outlook profile.



⑥ Finally click “OK” and restart Outlook to check the result.



4. Fix the Error by ScanPST
