As the flat gaskets inserted betweenthe flangesare tightlypressed togetherthere is usuallythe problem,after dismantlingadefectivebutterflyvalvetobeexchangedbyanewone,thatthereisnolongersufficientmounting spaceforabutterflyvalveofthesameface-to-facedimensionwithnewflatgaskets.Tobeabletostillinserttheflat gasketsitwillbenecessarytoexpandthetwoopposingflangesbymeansofwedgestocreatesufficientmounting space.However ,thisisnotonlylabou rconsumingbut alsoexpensive. TheHawlePRObutterflyvalveisequippedwithtapersealswithflatgasketfunctionatthetwospigotends.The fittinglengthincludingthesealingsystemcorrespondswithface-to-facedimensionF4.Thetwoflangesareboth movableinlongitu dinaldirection andcanbeturnedby360 °. TherestraintjointofHawlePRObutterflyvalvesisachievedviaacircumferentialgroovewithacollarinsertedatthe twospigotendsofthevalve.Incaseofaxialmovementsthelooseflangeismovedtotheendcollar,blockingthe furthermovementofthelooseflange.
