Work safety on the roofWork safety on the roofThe present work contains basic aspects regarding working under safety conditions on the roof, because this activity is dangerous and necessitates enhanced safety measures during the entire period of executing this type of work.The execution of work on the roof must be prepared and thoroughly analyzed, as the assessment of all risk factors associated to this type of work is necessary.All necessary equipment must be assured, prevention measures and adequate working systems must be developed, and appropriate training must be brought to the workers along with clear and concise dispositions. All activity developed on the roof, including short term work, must be carefully planed, to reduce to the minimum the risk for the workers.The workers involved in working on the roof must have knowledge, qualification and appropriate experience, must be trained to know the risks, to understand the adequate working systems, to develop the competence and the skills required by the execution of this type of work, such as execution of mobile access platforms, the use of stop-systems for high falls (safety belts with specific components), assembling of banister and protection parapets.
