Letter of RecommendationTo Whom It May Concern,

As a Professor in the Centre of Oriental Studies at Vilnius University, I have had the pleasure of knowing Gint ernait for more than four years. She has been a dedicated student who stands out among her peers for her ambition and enthusiasm. Due to her great performance in the university, I am very pleased to recommend Ms. Gint ernait to your masters program.

I instructed Ms. ernait in the courses of Methodology of Religion Studies, Introduction to Culturology and Indian Religious Traditions in Vilnius University, the best institution for cultural and humanitarian studies in Lithuania. It was evident from the beginning of the class that she had and still has a strong interest in the subject matter, and this was reflected in her grades too, for which she would regularly be awarded performance based sponsorships. Ms. ernait did not hesitate to participate in discussions and raise various concerns and questions of her own, what I assume to be a very important part of studying. I am pleased to learn that Gint now hopes to pursue further studies in Social Anthropology at Central European University in Budapest, and I feel strongly that she is well-suited for such a course of study.

Between the Fall semester of 2012 and Spring semester of 2013, Gint studied Hindi language and literature in India. Along the way, she did research work on Metaphysical Human Body Understanding in Indian Philosophical Schools. When I received her academic paper on the same topic, I evaluated it with the best grade. One year later, she wrote her bachelor degree thesis on Tantric Practices in India, and also received the best assessment from our thesis defence committee. The coverage of her work ranges from close analysis of individual philosophical Sanskrit texts to detailed annotated translations of texts. She is capable of discussing speculative philosophical issues based on a close reading of primary sources. Besides that, Gint uses her own critical approach to contemporary investigations, combining the methodologies of religious and postcolonial studies.

Besides her outstanding academic qualities, Ms. ernait has a wealth of practical experience. In 2013-2014, she was employed as a Project Manager in Indian-Baltic Chamber of Commerce in Vilnius, where has gained experience working in the diplomatic and business sectors. With this, Gint can bring a unique viewpoint, combined with an awareness and familiarity of the international world. I feel confident that Ms. Gint ernait will continue to succeed in her studies. She offers an engaging personality, a strongly motivated devotion and a comprehensive knowledge of cultural studies. It is for these reasons that I strongly recommend Ms. ernait without reservation for your graduate program in the field of Sociology and Social Anthropology, at Central European University in Budapest. Should you require further information, please do not hesitate to contact me.Sincerely, January 20, 2015
