1. Start Excel, and then open the student data file e08_Legislation. Save the file in your ExcelChapter 8 folder with the name Lastname_Firstname_e08_Legislation

3. In the Object dialog box, click Browse. In the Browse dialog box, locate your student datafiles, click e08_Legislation_Slide, and then click Insert. In the Object dialog box, verify thatthe Link to File and Display as Icon check boxes are cleared, and then click OK.

The Link to File option links the original PowerPoint file so that any changes made to theoriginal PowerPoint slide will be reflected in the workbook. The Display as Icon optiondisplays an icon instead of the actual slide. In the workbook, the slide would be displayedby clicking the icon.

4. Resize the PowerPoint slide so that it fills the range A1:K25. Compare your screen withFigure 2.

5. Right-click on the Sheet1 sheet tab, and then click Rename. Type Process and then pressJ. Rename the Sheet2 sheet tab as Slide and then delete the Sheet3 worksheet.

6. Select the two worksheets, and insert the file name in the left footer of both worksheets.Select cell K1, and return to Normal view. Ungroup the worksheets, and display the Slideworksheet tab.

7. Save your workbook, and then print or submit the file as directed by your instructor.

8. Exit Excel.
