摘 要

学习动机是激发学生学习的源动力,也是推动学生在学习过程中持续学习的内在驱

动力。它是决定英语学习成败的一个重要因素,也是决定英语教学成功的关键和前提。

近年来,随着高等教育的普及、大学的扩招,艺术类专业大学生在我国大学生的比

重也在不断增加。艺术生英语教学成为我国大学英语教学的重要组成部分。但长期以来,

由于艺术类本科生英语基础差,投入文化课的学习时间和精力少,教学效果差,使得艺

术类英语教学一直处于一个尴尬的局面,不被人们重视。笔者在教学实践中还发现,相

较于其他专业,艺术类本科生的英语学习动机自进入大学后衰退明显,而且这种现象具

有群体性。本研究并通过调查问卷证实,艺术类本科生英语学习中确实存在学习动机群

体性衰退现象。个体会受到其所在群体动态的影响。而这种群体性学习动机衰退现象也

必然会影响到群体内每个个体的英语学习动机,如此形成恶性循环。因此,这种学习动

机群体性地明显衰退的现象己成为艺术生英语教学的一个重大阻碍,也是艺术生英语教

学改革需要最先解决的一个问题。

本研究抽取西华大学艺术学院135名大一新生进行问卷调查,旨在了解艺术类本科

生英语学习动机类型和学习需求,并分析导致艺术类本科生英语学习动机严重衰退的主

要原因和影响因素。基于艺术类本科生英语学习的特点和问卷调查统计数据结果,本文

从设定学习目标、分析学习需求、建立宽松的课堂教学环境、培训学习策略、给予及时

反馈以及群体动态六个层面提出了一些学习动机激发策略。本研究还通过实验的方法来

检验这些激发策略在教学中的有效性。实验证明,这些激发策略能有效减缓学习动机群

体性衰退现象,同时在提高艺术类本科生英语学习兴趣和学习效果方面也起到了一定的

作用。

为应对社会对高素质人才的需求和时代发展要求,掌握英语这门国际语言对于艺术

类专业大学生已成为必然。本研究希望通过对艺术类本科生英语学习动机的研究,改善

艺术类本科生英语学习动机群体性衰退的现象,同时也为艺术类本科生英语教学和研究

提供一些建议,从而提高艺术类本科生英语教学效果。

learmng is considered as a burden aJld they are forced to leam En91ish just due to course

requirements.Therefore,we can infer that tlle de伊ee tllat students like English iIl ClaSs A is
