NEWLY CONSTRUCTED APARTMENTS FOR RENT Macedonia Plaza Development LLC is pleased to announce that applications are now being accepted for 142 affordable housing rental apartments under construction at 36-08 Union Street in the Flushing section of Queens. This building is being constructed through the Low-Income Affordable Marketplace Program (LAMP) of the New York City Housing Development Corporation and the Low Income Rental Program (LIRP) of the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development. Households may elect to submit an application by one of two methods: EITHER online OR by mail. To submit your application online now, please visit NYC Housing Connect at www.nyc.gov/housingconnect and select Apply for Housing. All online applications must be submitted by September 30, 2013. To request an application by mail, please mail a self-addressed envelope to: Macedonia Plaza, P.O. Box 1166, New York, NY 10039. All mailed applications must be returned by regular mail only (no priority, certified, registered, express, oversized, or overnight mail will be accepted) to a post office box number that will be listed on the application, and must be postmarked by September 30, 2013. Applications will be selected by a lottery; applicants who submit more than one application will be disqualified. Disqualified applications will not be accepted. A general preference will be given to New York City residents. Eligible households that include persons with mobility impairments will receive preference for 5% of the units; eligible households that include persons with visual and/or hearing impairments will receive preference for 2% of the units. Current and eligible residents of Queens Community Board 7 will receive preference for 50% of the units. Ads will tell you: - Developers Name - Type of Apartments (new construction, etc.) - Apartment Address - Total # of Units for Lottery - Apartment Size - # of apts available for each apt size - Household Size - Monthly Rent - Total Annual Income Range - Application deadline - How to Apply/get an application - Where to send request - Any other accommodation for the building (i.e. smoke free building, handicap accessibility) 12. Determining If You Qualify 13. Calculating Your Income Current Annual Income The amount of household income for the past 12 months 12 AND Projected Annual Income The amount a household is projected to make in the next 12 months 12 14. Calculating Your Income Based on your tax return for previous year Based on your current income (i.e. paystubs for past 2 months, Social Security Benefit, SSI, Pension, interest income and any other income) 2 Example: $797 Social Security Benefit x 12 months = $9564.00 (total projected annual income) $ 797 X 12= $ 9564.00 ( 15. How to Apply Once you receive the application, fill out the application and send it back to the designated address and have it postmarked before the deadline. 17.
