ABHIVYAKTI E-NEWSLETTER In order to add value to students undergoing various programmes at COER, Roorkee, a new initiative in form of In- spirational Lecture Se- ries has been introduced by COER School of Man- agement. The inaugural Lecture on Leadership & National Security Concerns was delivered by Maj Gen AK Chaturvedi, AVSM, VSM Director General COER, Roorkee at Vardhman Auditorium on Sept 21, 2016. This informative talk was well received by the audience comprising Fac- ulty Members and students as was evident from the number of questions raised in Open House Session. Dr Veeralakshmi, Head of the Management Depart- ment enunciated the aim of Inspirational Lecture Series and welcomed the speaker. It gives me im- mense pleasure to state that as a result of the collective effort of the faculty, students and staff COER School of Management is performing well. As we move towards our goals, we must always keep in mind that we owe more to the world than it owes us. Each of us can and must do his or her bit to help build a uni- verse that will nur- ture our future generation. I am hopeful of its acquiring greater heights in the years to come. MEENAKSHI POLYMERS

A visit was carried out at

MEENAKSHI POLYMERS

Pvt. Ltd. on Sept. 28, 2016

for MBA 3rd semester stu-

dents. Students got orien-

tation about the history of

the company. and work-

ing. After this they visited

to the production line to

see how different products

were being produced.

Industrial visit has its own

importance in a career of a

student who is pursuing a

professional degree. It gives

them exposure to current

work practices as opposed to

possibly theoretical knowl-

edge being taught at college.

In this way, COER – SM or-

ganized some industrial visits

for the students under Stu-

dent affairs Cell, coordinated

by Mr. K.R. Ansari.

SKF, SIDCUL

One day visit to SKF, Harid-

war was organized for BBA

3rd and BBA 1st semester

students on Sept. 23, 2016.

The group consist of 40 stu-

dents and 2 faculty members

– Mr. Ranit Kishore and Mr. K.

Department of Computer Ap-

plication (DOCA) has success-

fully organized a workshop

on Cloud Computing on 23

September 2016. Around 125

students (BCA, MCA, B. Tech),

06 faculty from COER and 25

students and faculty mem-

bers from SSDPC Girls (PG)

college were participate in

the workshop. Mr. Vipul

Kumar, Trainer Ducat Noida

delivered a lecture along

with practical session on

Cloud Computing. At the end

of the Session, Certificates

were distributed among all

the participants by Maj. Gen.

Dr. Himadri Phukan attended a

two day National Conference on

on CREATING AWARENESS FOR

MINIMISIZING DISASTER CAU-

SALITIES. She has been awarded

as the best speaker of the session.

A visit to hill station always fills everyone with the

wonder and ecstasy of nature. One day excursion trip

to Mussoorie was organized by Student Affairs Cell of

COER – School of Management for the students of

B.Com 3rd Year and B.Com 2nd year on 18th Sept. 2016.

In this 23 students (B.Com 3rd: 13, B.Com 2nd: 10) were

participated.
