Pré Urbano praça públicaVialonga_Vila Franca de Xira_Portugal, 2008

Vialonga, uma vila caracterizada pelo seu crescimento

orgânico e natural, acompanhando o desenvolvimento do tempo

desinteressantes, a arquitectura é social e reflecte a

bem-estar social a longo prazo.

originando duas diferentes realidades.

A Habitação Colectiva tenta responder à

Enquadrar o conceito casa pátio no habitar colectivo.

HYBRID PROJECT Ashford_Kent_Reino Unido, 2009MASTERPLAN_ ASH41 _ EMERGENT URBANISM

A hybrid system is a dynamic system that exhibits both

continuous and discrete dynamic behavior – a system that

can both flow (described by a differential equation) and

jump (described by a difference equation or control graph).

Often, the term "hybrid dynamic system" is used, to

distinguish over hybrid systems such as those that combine

neural nets and fuzzy logic, or electrical and mechanical

drivelines. A hybrid system has the benefit of encompassing

a larger class of systems within its structure, allowing

for more flexibility in modelling dynamic phenomena. In

general, the state of a hybrid system is defined by the

values of the continuous variables and a discrete control

mode. The state changes either continuously, according to

a flow condition, or discretely according to a control

graph. Continuous flow is permitted as long as so-called

invariants hold, while discrete transitions can occur as

soon as given jump conditions are satisfied. Discrete

transition may be associated with events.

AIRSIDE MAnston_Kent_Reino Unido, 2010MASTERPLAN_ BUILDING _ AIRPORT

Manston has unique characteristics in relation to its

privileged location.

Kent International airport is located in the eastern end

of the country, with links to the Netherlands and France.

Excellent access connection to London, 1h30 you can find

ourselves in the city center.

It is located in an under development area with good

expansion properties.

The excellent location and conditions are met at the

airport in Manston is a strong support for the region of

Kent and East Sussex but also to the airports of Heathrow

and Gatwick, dissolving passengers for a more extensive

network.

PASSENGER TERMINAL

The passenger terminal is completed by two floors and a third for

the water reservoir. At the first level we have got the train

station that is directly related check in entrance, thereby creating

an atmosphere of respect between the two transports. The whole area

of staff, luggage area and arrivals happens past the first level to

the second level via the main access ramp or vertical links of the

building. The check-in area is at the centre of the second level

connecting interest points and visual relationship of the building

itself.

The terminal operates through a circulatory system, carrying

passengers from the train station direct to the aircraft and

likewise the opposite. The whole terminal is designed for people

moving as little as possible in areas compensating bulky and provide

moments of leisure and relaxation.

Section A

The combination of irregular shapes and heights provides different moments and

sensations throughout the Terminal. The complexity of roof design makes all

the rainwater to be directed to the openings for water collect, this process

is made through a collection system which ends in the reservoir and then the

water is reused in heating, sanitary facilities, aircraft wash, watering the

green areas and cleaning. This collection is visible to passengers by glass

walls that are inside of the building creating a link between them and the

sustainability system.

Going through the building since arrivals to departures the light entries are

constant, in a way that passengers are always in visual contact with what

happens outdoor.

The rainwater is reused for more than 50% of airport needs. The precipitation

in the region of Manston average is 3 mm / day per square meter. This means

that an area of 52,000 sq/m there will be about 156 cubic meter of water daily.

On average each passenger is assigned to 80 liters of water per day at an

airport which means a reduction of 57 million liters per year.

THESIS Folkestone_Kent_Reino Unido, 2010PUBLIC SPACE_SEAFRONT + HARBOUR

Folkestone is a town to live, to breathe, to taste.

A town with past, present and future. A place waiting for a moment, for a touch, for some hope. Fathers and

their sons, mothers and their daughters, a city for all. Use the public space does not matter if is indoors or

outdoors, enjoy each second, each minute of Human life.

An abandoned place, left there to die alone and without mercy, a forgotten place, people, smiles…light.

Walk, run, jump, stop, view, feel.

Feeling what it says, what it shows us. Put the politics to one side, whether it is right or not. Do not worry

about the money, take off your shoes and feel the green ground.

Let the smell of the sea come in and fill the spirit yearning for something different. A new life, a new

experience. Resurrect from the dust of our parent’s ancestors and show to our children what they did. Respect,

search, analyze, see, feel, recycle, regenerate, give… live. Listen to what the place tells us, understand what

it demands. Give a name, one identity, one aim, one reason to be there. The places show us the best they have

to share, they give us an opportunity to change them, to remake its spirit, touching in its soul.

The same soul that is in each brick, in each wall, in each structure we occupy. Occupy this lost and abandoned

soul. Give it a new life.

Revolution, Regeneration, Reappropriate, Reorganize, Revive!

The sea breeze fill us with memories and it makes you feel peace and tranquility. Stories of a place that died.

An old train station where you can still hear the laughs of children playing and the people waiting for next

train.

Now it is a rusty, dirty and disused place. A place where the memories were replaced with silence and the sea

breeze has become a frightening noise. There is a continuous line from the town until the sea, a strong link

between to different realities.

A line that runs down the coast to the infinite, define the journey and let yourself go further.

The line is abandoned, deteriorated, in the process of decay, a corpse in the urban fabric center with the

privilege of diving in to the sea. Screams for help, cries for help, longing for someone to see her and return

the life it lost.

The places talk, make sounds and emotions, the issue is:

Do we really hear them?

Create a set of collective housing in order to provide

a strong connection with the existing park (Lower Leas

Park). This zone is located on West of the seafront and

it has a good visual link with the sea and in the same

time with the Town. It is more private area for

permanent residence, an area for people who wants to

live in Folkestone and create your family.Family

neighborhood.

An area characterized by a diversity of buildings and

green areas supported by a three floors multistore

car park. A set of temporary Housing is created

appealing to local and overseas tourism, working

together with the existing hotels. The lower floor

is dedicated to retail and galleries, providing

motion areas and tourist attraction.

The predominant square on the site which focuses

on the sea views in order to link physically and

visually the people who come from the town. The

shopping area is located a lower level providing

more privacy for who wants do some shopping and

in the same way who wants walk on the higher

level. Shopping facilities is the culmination of

the main square that comes from the water sport

centre creating more density at the upper

pathways.

The water sports centre reponds to the wish of the

inhabitants of Folkestone - sports related to the sea. Its

location is due to the relationship with the coast and the

town. Complementing the operation of the school there is

restaurants and leisure area together with a residential zone

that will support the needs of external students. The

residential area is located at a higher level in ordor do not

break the continuity of the main square of the coming retail

area. The idea is everything works as a single building where
