1.1. INTRODUCTION

Jiangsu University (JSU) is located in Zhenjiang city of Jiangsu Province, China. JSU is strong

in English taught programs with 15 bachelor courses, almost top number of courses offered in

China in English. Currently over 1800 international students from over 107 countries study

bachelor, master, PhD and many non-degree courses. The university is gaining popularity for

innovative teaching and very colorful college life. Mixing class work and proper immersion in

Program Introduction

Accounting provides relevant information to decision makers, managers, investors,

creditors, labor unions, government regulators and others interested in the financial wellbeing

and future of an entity of economic activity. Students mainly study the basic theory and

methods in accounting and business administration that focus on learning basic theory, basic

skills and basic methods in accounting. After graduation, students can deal with the relevant

business, such as accounting management, auditing practice and financial management, in

enterprises, institutions, governmental sections as well as various CPA business affairs in CPA

firm.

This program aims at the cultivation of advanced，specialized and interdisciplinary

talents for doing business and management in foreign economic & trade sectors and

multinational companies and for doing research on teaching in teaching & research

institutions. Graduates will have a good mastery of the fundamentals of economics, basic

theories and practice of international trade, the development of modern international

economics & trade, the social, economic, and cultural conditions of major trading partners，

The objective of this program is to develop within the student an understanding of the

nature, properties, and characteristics of foods as determined through biochemistry, chemistry,

microbiology, physics, statistics and nutrition. A degree in Food Science and Engineering

provides learning opportunities that build on previous basic science knowledge and

application of scientific principles to the selection, processing, preservation, packaging,

distribution, storage and use of safe food.

The School of Materials Science and Engineering offers undergraduate program to

students pursuing bachelor degree in materials science and engineering (MSE). MSE is a major

that is concerned with the structures and prosperities of all engineering materials.

After graduation, MSE students have wide basic theory in materials science and technology,

and can become materials research workers or materials engineering who are responsible for

designing, producing, examining and testing diverse materials. Students graduated with honor

can also be engaged in research, education, developments and management related to

materials designing and producing, materials processing, manufacturing or other relative

fields.

2.1.15. FLUID MACHINERY AND ENGINEERING


The School of Mechanical Engineering offers undergraduate program to students

pursuing bachelor degree in Fluid Machinery and Engineering (FME). FME is a major offering

study of the mechanical and flow properties of various fluids including liquids and gasses. FML

train you in the techniques involved with the analysis, design and development of fluid

mechanisms and systems. Based on the program, students will study three years at the

university and one year they will work in a company in order to gain work experience.

CHINESE MEDIUM

2. 2.1. CHINESE LINGUISTICS AND LITERATURE


The program focuses on developing advanced proficiency in Chinese with the goal of

carrying out linguistic or literary studies. While achieving proficiency in Chinese, undergraduate

majors are exposed to the major works of Chinese literature ranging from classical texts of the

earliest periods to recent works of modern fiction, as well as to the linguistic approach to

analyzing and understanding the features of the Chinese language. The medium of instruction

for this program is English and Chinese combined. After completing second year, students will

be able to choose one of three specializations offered by the school: Teaching Chinese to

Speakers of Other Languages, Chinese Language and Literature, and Business Chinese.

5.1. SUMMER SCHOOL - ENGINEERING

JSU’s summer school offers a unique experience in Engineering, regardless of your

education background. Applicants receive one week intensive Chinese Language Training.

5.3. PRE-UNIVERSITY FOUNDATION PROGRAM

Prepare for your college study in a dynamic, supportive environment. JSU offers non-

credit pre-university courses, and are designed as refresher courses for students who need

improvement in the subjects considered essential for related first-year courses at JSU. In the

end of the course, students who wish to take bachelor degree courses at JSU will have to

apply for “Admission Entrance Exam for Overseas Students”. Students who score well in this

exam will be admitted to the next intake for bachelor degree students.

In order to further develop the education of international students, Jiangsu University

provides scholarship for international students getting registered for English-taught degree

programs.

6.5. A&W SCHOLARSHIP

A&W Enterprise of Shanghai introduces its scholarship fund in benefit of foreign students

of Jiangsu University. A&W desires strengthening of Sino-foreign relationships and sharing love

and resources in a global scale. This fund is made available to selected undergraduate and

postgraduate students with outstanding academic results, good conduct and students facing
