"Spring Break" instead of Easter are just the Secular Progressive Education System trying to rid the schools of "evil" Christianity in any way that they can. Christmas cannot be mentioned, but Muslim Holidays can.....Any you will get people who will actually defend this policy....Watch for the comments.

I am annoyed that Christian holidays are not listed on the calendar. We have off for Winter Recess and Spring Recess- but no where on the calendar is Christmas or Good Friday. It is as if the Christian holidays are not important- it is just a time to get off. Before you bash- I do realize that technically we have off- but the township feels it is important to represent all religions- why not Christianity??

• summerofsoftballOct 23, 2011• Don't forget that "Good Friday" is a Holiday of the "evil Christians" we

always hear about on the mainstream news. It's OK to persecute them, but not the Hindus and Muslims with which we have such a long standing, deep seated tradition here in the U.S. I'm sure if we went to India, they are celebrating all kinds of American Holidays, right?? And in Muslim Countries, of course they love us and respect our Holidays. Of course, they must be. We probably just don't know about it. I am for water-boarding whoever is responsible for this abomination.

• jersamiOct 23, 2011• Yes Christmas is officially a national holiday in India. Christianity started

in India 2000 years ago when Hindu Kings welcomed St. Thomas one of the 12 apostles of Jesus and allowed him and his fellow Christians to propagate their faith and build Christian places of worship. Mind you no "zoning ordinances" were used to deny them the right to build Churches. A Christian saint Mother Teresa was also loved and treated as national hero in India. Learn that tolerance is always a two street.

• The 5 Indians in my kids school shouldn't be a factor in determining which holidays the other 400 non-Hindu students take. How about this, if you are one of 5 Indians, take the day off and ensure the schools won't count an absence against them.

• This also goes for- MLK for the 4 black kids in my kids school- Hanakkah, Yom Kippur for the 14 Jewish kids- Ramadan for the 3 Muslim kids- Chinese New Year for the 10 Chinese kids

• Give me a damn break. Tired of the MANY bending over to the FEW...
