Cartographic Inform ation
Le ge nd
Map Inform ationThe EMSN-057 service provides geospatial information facilitating assessment of drivers ofground subsidence and supporting analysis of relation between detected ground subsidenceand land use changes in Ca Mau, Long Xuyen and Rach Gia areas in the Mekong delta,Vietnam.Primary objective of the service is provision of spatially and temporally consistent, dense andsynoptic results giving insight on distribution and variance of subsidence phenomena inspace and its dynamics in time. Persistent scatterers interferometry (PSI) techniquemeasuring ground deformations from stacks of archive SAR imagery (Sentinel-1 andTerraSAR-X) was utilized to estimate displacements caused by ground subsidence in datawith synoptic spatial coverage and considerable accuracy. The core user of the map is Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ)and the national civil protection authoritiy Federal Office of Civil Protection and DisasterAssistance (BBK).
Map products are available in the Copernicus EMS Portal at the following URL:https://emergency.copernicus.eu/mapping/list-of-components/EMSN057.Delivery formats are GeoPDF and vectors. No restrictions on the publication of the mapping apply. All products are © of the European Union.

This map shows difference of annual ground subsidence displacements in vertical directionas of 2016 and 2015 in AOI 02 Rach Gia.Displacement values were derived from time series based on PSI analysis of Sentinel-1imagery acquired in 2016 and 2015 respectively. It is accompanied by administrative boundaries to provide a geographical context. The estimated thematic accuracy of this product is 80% or better for results derived fromSentinel-1, as it is based on cross-validation with results from independent Sentinel-1satellite track.A wider area than the Area Of Interest provided has been analyzed. Results are available inthe EMSN-057 GeoDataBase.
