    2. OBJETIVOS GENERALESEsta asignatura se centra en una reflexin sobre los usos polticos y sociales de la arqueologa.El curso esta designado para generar una perspectiva crtica en torno a la relacin existente entreArqueologa y Pueblos Indgenas. Con este objetivo, el curso se dictar a modo de retrospectiva,

    comenzando en la actualidad hasta tiempos del contacto Americano/Europeo, para abordar laprctica y teora arqueolgica en base a casos de estudio de Amrica.Al finalizar la asignatura, los/las alumnos/as sern capaces de:2.1Conocer los diferentes contextos sociales y polticos (estados nacionales, formaciones

    coloniales) en los cuales se desarrolla el quehacer arqueolgico en Amrica2.2Conocer los tipos de vinculacin de la disciplina arqueolgica con los grupos originarios

    que son su objeto/sujeto de estudio

    3. OBJETIVOS ESPECFICOSAl finalizar la asignatura, los/las alumnos/as sern capaces de:3.1 Identificar tipos de arqueologa (nacionalista, imperialista, colonialista, indigenista)3.2 Manejar informacin sobre los distintos casos de estudio en Amrica3.3 Comprender los procesos sociales y polticos que enmarcan cada caso de estudio3.4 Desarrollar un pensamiento crtico y reflexivo sobre la arqueologa hoy

    4. CONTENIDOS PROGRAMTICOSEl curso esta subdividi en cuatro unidades:4.1 La primera parte abordar a los cambios en la relacin entre arquelogos norteamericanos ylas denominadas Primeras Naciones cuyo patrimonio stos investigan, poniendo nfasis en el

    reciente debate sobre la arqueologa indigenista. Mientras que la arqueologa sola usarse enbeneficio del estado en contra de los aborgenes, hoy en da tambin se aplica por los mismosindgenas en su lucha por ser reconocidos por el estado.

    4.2 La segunda parte se enfocar en la actual relacin establecida por la arqueologa con losPueblos Indgenas y sus descendientes, mediante los estados nacionales de Mesoamrica y elCaribe. La revisin incluir interpretaciones sobre el pasado, tanto arqueolgico como mtico, ysu relacin con las poblaciones originarias hoy.

    4.3 La tercera parte comprende las poblaciones nativas de Andino Amrica y se centra en lasconsecuencias que han tenido de los cambios de administracin, ya sea colonialistas como

    republicanos, en el manejo del patrimonio arqueolgico reclamado por Pueblos Indgenas.4.4 La cuarta y ltima parte comprende un foro-debate que contar con representantes dePueblos Indgenas en Arica (Aymara, Quechua, Mapuche, Chango). En preparacin al foro serealizar con una sesin donde se elaboraran preguntas y respuestas grupalmente, y una sesinposterior donde se reflexionar acerca de la situacin actual de las etnias originarias en Chile.

    5. ACTIVIDADES DE APRENDIZAJELas clases se desarrollarn en forma de seminario expositivo del instructor, seguida por una

    discusin general sobre las lecturas asignadas cada clase.Se entregar una sntesis crtica de las lecturas asignadas, con un mximo de 2 pginas.Se realizar una prueba de contenidos al finalizar la tercera unidad.Se entregar un ensayo temtico al trmino de la cuarta unidad, con un mximo de 10 pginas.La participacin del curso se considerar en cada clase, y especialmente en la preparacin,asistencia y reflexin del Foro-Debate.
