Entry Requirements

Advanced Diploma in Shopping Centre Management

Applicants shall

1. hold a diploma awarded by a recognized post-secondary institution; or

2. hold a certificate awarded by a recognized post-secondary institution; and have three years relevant work experience; or

3. have gained in the HKALE Grade E in two AL subjects or equivalent; or

4. have gained in the HKDSE Examination Level 2 in six subjects including Chinese Language and English Language;

5. have gained in the HKCEE Grade E in five subjects, and Level 2 in Chinese Language and English Language, and have

three years of relevant work experience; or

6. hold relevant and recognized professional qualifications.

Certificate in Shopping Centre Management

Applicants shall

1. have gained in the HKDSE examination Level 2 in 5 subjects including English Language or equivalent; and

2. have 1 year of work experience.

Applicants with other qualifications will be considered on individual merit.

The Advanced Diploma aims to introduce practical and professional management skills and technology to shopping centre

practitioners to work effectively in managing shopping centres. The programme aims to help students in understanding the

role and responsibilities of shopping centre managers, and developing useful knowledge and skills to meet the changing

demand in the industry.

On completion of the Advanced Diploma, students should be able to

1. perform the role and responsibilities of shopping centre managers;

2. apply useful knowledge and skills to meet the changing demand in the shopping centre industry;

3. apply knowledge in leasing and marketing, facilities management, design and refurbishment, property

4. apply knowledge on safety and security management in shopping centres, practice of shopping centres in

Asia or landscape architecture for shopping centres.

Holders of Advanced Certificate / Certificate in Shopping Centre Management awarded within the HKU system through

HKU SPACE would be given exemptions and may enter directly to Module 4 of the Advanced Diploma upon approval.

Applicants holding a Professional Diploma or a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline awarded by a recognized

institution; and have three years of relevant work experience at managerial level may be considered for direct entry to

module 4 of the Advanced Diploma on a case by case basis.

recognized by Middlesex University.
