ประวัติการตีพิมพ เปนสิ่งพิมพตอเนื่องที่เร่ิมตีพิมพฉบับแรก (volume 1) เมื่อป คศ. 1945 จนถึงฉบับลาสดุคือ volume 60 ป 2006 ภายในเลมประกอบดวยบทความทางวิชาการที่ใหรายละเอียดเก่ียวกับความกาวหนาและการเปลี่ยนแปลงทางดานเคมีและชีวเคมีของคารโบไฮเดรต ซึ่งเขียนโดยผูเช่ียวชาญในสาขาวิชาอุตสาหกรรม การวิเคราะห และเทคโนโลยีดานชีวเคมี เคมีอินทรีย และเครื่องมือที่ใชสําหรับการวัดในการศึกษาเกี่ยวกับคารโบไฮเดรต บทความดังกลาวใหคําจํากัดความหรือความหมาย และสภาพการณในปจจุบันและแนวโนมในอนาคตของการศึกษาดานเคมีและชีวเคมีของคารโบไฮเดรต

สิ่งพิมพตอเนื่องชุดน้ีเหมาะสําหรับนักวิจัยสาขาชีวเคมี เคมีอินทรีย เคมีการแพทย และหลักการใชเคร่ืองมือวัด

นอกจากนี้ ยังมีสิ่งที่นาสนใจเปนอยางยิ่งกลาวคือ ตั้งแตฉบับที่ 6 เปนตนไปไดรวบรวมชีวประวัติของนักวิทยาศาสตร ที่อยูในสาขาวิชาดังกลาว โดยภายใน 1 เลมจะมีชีวประวัติของนักวิทยาศาสตร 1 ทาน อยูในสวนหนาที่ถัดจากหนา Preface นอกจากชีวประวัติแลวยังมีรูปภาพของนักวิทยาศาสตร และผลงานวิชาการทั้งหมดตลอดชีวิตการทํางานอีกดวย ไดแก
