Yamuna in the northern state of Uttar Pradesh, India.

• Population of Agra :  16,86,976.

• Agra's history is largely recognised with Mughal Empire.

The Taj Mahal is widely recognized as "the jewel of Muslim art in India and one of the universally admired masterpieces of the world's heritage.

The third Mughal Emperor Akbar the Great (1555–1605), himself commenced its construction in around 1600, according to Tartary tradition to commence the construction of one's tomb during one's lifetime. Akbar himself planned his own tomb and selected a suitable site for it.
